Bottle 481 / 710
A strong aroma, spicy and sweet, some glue. The taste is strong, dark chocolate, spicy. Reminds me of an Whisky. The finish is rather short.

Bottle: 481 of 710 (Batch 2)
Abv: 56.4%
My version is 11y old, the second edition.

These rum is from Port Mourant Still – a double pot still made out of wood (illustrated on the label).
It originates from the Port Mourant Estate which was established in the 1732, possibly making this the oldest working pot still in the world.

Sours/sweet and bright nose with fruits (sour apples), molasses, pencil shaving and glue. I would say a classic PM style. I think it was aged in europe, the nose is very bright and spicy (with a bite).
There are fresh fruit aromas dominated by sour apple and prune with grasy notes, some anise and white oak. This rum is fresh and strong like the Cadenhead's 1991 Dated Distillation Uitvlugt Demerara PM 2006, same type.
Cadenhead's is more grasy. This one is more fruity, again some similarities with TRC WP 4y.

The taste is spicy, the alcohol tingels in my mouth. It starts grasy with sour apples (you know them from smith&cross -> Hampden), after that the prune is rising on my palet. The taste became sweet like fresh sugar cane and at the end of the initial taste I get the honey and molasses (like in the Pussers rum).
The middle taste starts with oranges, anise and orange peels. Earth is rising on my palet. There is also the white oak with vanilla and some tannins in form of orange peels. That's enough wood influence I would say.
The finish is spicy, with prunes, oranges and anise, at the end is again the honey. The mouth feels dry, I have a lot of orange on my palet.
The finish is middle long. I get spice, banana, prune, orange and honey, some mint at the end.
The aftertaste is very tasty with green banana, prunes and oranges.
Later you get also leather and mint.

I would rate it with 79 points. I like these fresh and sharp continental aged rums. But this one tastes a little bit young and a hint too sour.
If you are new to rum, don't follow my recommendation. This is a strong and spicy rum.

Nose: glue*, vanilla*, molasses*, sour apples***, grasy notes*, prune**, sugar cane*, pencil shavings*, green banana*, some oranges with anise*, white oak
Taste: grasy notes, sour note (apple), spice, prune, sugar cane (sweetness), vanilla, some molasses, honey
Middle: orange, anise, wood, earth, tannins, orange peels, citrus, alcohol is tingeling on my palet, honey, some anise, molasses
Finish: spice, prune, green banana, anise, molasses, apricot, orange, honey, some mint
Aftertaste: green banana, prune, apricot, some leather, mint

Sweetness: 2.5/5
Fruits: 4/5
Spice: 3.5/5
Mildness: 2.5/5
Complexity: 4/5
Value (50€): 4/5
Experience level: expert

Tip: Mix this rum with El Dorado 12 (1:2 or 1:3) and you get a PM/Enmore blend with around 92 points. For such a beauty you would pay more than 130€.
