Pyrat XO Rum is produced from nine different Caribbean rums that are blended and then aged up to 15 years in used American sweet oak barrels.
The squat Pyrat XO rum bottle shape is inspired by the typical design of rum bottles kept by pirates and ship captains in the 19th century.

Very good rum , nice dark color , orange-vanilla , with a smooth finish.
This rum is ok but there are better rums out there in the price range. A little to heavy on the burn and not enough taste to warrant a higher rating.
Lekkere, zachte rum. Speciale geur waar ik nie dadelijk wild van word, maar desondanks zeer lekker van smaak.

Chouette et intéressant rhum pour un debutant. Plusieurs aromes s'en echappent. Tantot fruité, tantot épice. Il n'est pas forcement doux mais pas sec non plus.

Not too sweet with fruity tones. Not a smooth as others I like but a good starter rum to get your taste buds awake.

I may have a dissenting opinion but I don't think this rum is particularly special. The bouquet is nothing great to speak of and the flavor has something of a "dusty" profile in its notes. That said I must respect it's process and aging, blending. I wouldn't recommend it as a sipping rum, but I think it would make great cocktails.

Pyrat ist ein schwerer süßer rum der zeit braucht. Habe ihm ca. 15min stehen lassen trotzdem ist er nicht so wie andere ihn beschreiben. Für mich riecht er etwas nach klebstoff und schmeckt nach vanille und orange.

Bouteille superbe, mais son contenu wow, j'adore ce rhum, il est différent, subtilement il sent et goûte l'orange. Je songe déjà a ma deuxième bouteille.

Auf meiner Reise durch das Rum-Imperium bin ich irgendwann natürlich über den Pyrat XO gestolpert. Tolle Flasche, nette Aufmachung. Die Flasche geöffnet, ein Gläschen eingegossen und erst mal ausgiebig geschnuppert. Ergebnis: scharfer Alkohol und extremer Geruch nach Orange - sehr verwirrend. Und der Geschmack bestätigt das Gerochene. Der eine mag es mögen, ich leider nicht. Könnte sich gut in Cocktails oder in Longdrinks machen.

Yes, it is sweet and sugary and more a rum for starters but it is suprisingly tasty and a decent value for the price. Still, too sweet and too "watered down" for people who drink more aged, mature rums.

I have to say this rum receives nowhere near the credit it demands. This rum comes at you with multiple flavors first vanilla, then a nice long citrus ride in the middle, and then a lightly wooded cinnamon finish. I enjoyed this rum neat one shot at a time, but let it breath after opening. Overall excellent, I drank a whole one last night and awoke early the next morning feeling 100% no hangover! This is what I would expect from the makers of patron!
