Pyrat XO Rum is produced from nine different Caribbean rums that are blended and then aged up to 15 years in used American sweet oak barrels.
The squat Pyrat XO rum bottle shape is inspired by the typical design of rum bottles kept by pirates and ship captains in the 19th century.

Gehört wohl schon fast eher in die Kategorie flavoured Rum.
Schmekt irgendwie künstlich.
Strong flavors in every sense. Plenty of orange and citrus. Best sipped chilled. They did anvery good job at letting each flavor stand out while none, other than orange take control. Keep in mind that this is a cork top, there will be cork particles in your drinks. Great branding and awesome looking bottle. Owned by the Patron brand.
This rhum seems very forced. The aroma is artificial orange, the taste is very orange/chemical. There is some sweetness, but mostly orange followed by a light burn.
I enjoy this rum with ginger ale and lots of ice. There is better out there but also a lot worse!
Don’t love it. Don’t hate it. Like the orange fruit. No burn. Fine.
By far the best Rum. Great for everything. So far this is my favorite. I still have more to try. So far its been an adventure.
This was my second rum, after Don Papa. I like it’s similar taste profile, however it’s not artificial like the Don Papa feels to me now that I’ve experienced finer rums.
Pyrat has notes of vanilla and caramel and some oak, but is still a far cry from dry rums. The profile is vey drinkable and I am looking forward to another bottle soon.
Demerara rum. Sweet taste. Citrus. Orange peel and vanilla flavor. Nice but alcohol stroke is very powerful at the beginning.
"Had wine not been the drink of choice 2,000 or so years ago, Jesus would have probably turned every drop of water on earth into Pyrat Rum XO Reserve"

"it’s like an orange Chuck Norris came through the joint, belted out a roundhouse kick to the face..."
"Pyrat XO rum review by Lance from RumConnection"
A very definite hit of oranges.
"The orange taste is very much at the forefront and the burn leaves behind a bitter tang of orange peel."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Didn't really like it. Initial taste reminded me of taking children's orange triamenic cough syrup as a kid. That seems rather specifically bad doesn't it? I want to believe the one reviewer who said it needs to breath to be good, but I'm sure all rum is better after breathing and I don't want to wait 2 hours before sipping 1 glass of rum. Love the bottle and presentation but it's just not good.
