Produced in the Dominican Republic, Atlantico Private Cask is a blend of small batched rums aged up to 25 years. It is a very unique dark rum that is bottled by hand and carefully inspected. It has won several awards and has the support of Enrique Iglesias, the multi-platinum recording artist.
The aroma in the bottle definitely reveals this to be a sweet rum. Almost a dessert. Tasting it revealed a very strong sweetness with definite maple and toffee flavors. Even a little buttery? It has a slight oiliness which allows the flavor to stay on the tongue as the burn fade...a mild burn. The flavor lingers longer than expected but not unpleasantly. I have never had a hot buttered rum before but looking up the ingredients I think this would be an excellent rum for it. Also I think it would work well in hot mulled rum and hot coffee drinks as well. Perhaps a change from Irish Coffee to Pirate Rum Coffee? [I need to trademark/patent that.] When winter arrives (it's late this year) try this one in traditional hot mixed drinks. I have not tried it in Coke Zero yet but the sweetness may be too much for Coke Zero. A little too sweet for a sipping rum but makes for a fantastic mixer. Just not in fruit-based drinks 'cause it makes it TOO sweet IMHO.
Nice bottle that comes i an paper box (picture).
In the glass this rum smells sweet with arrack, vanilla and fruit. The rum tastes sweet (vanilla, caramel) with a little bit of spice and a little bit of oak. The aftertaste is short and spicy.
A good rum that is easy to drink. You can use this rum as a sipper or as a blender.
Among the Dominican rums I have tasted, I enjoy this one most...as I should given its price ($34 in my area). I'm reminded somewhat of the Zaya Gran Reserva, given the heft of vanilla. I find it tremendously smooth, but to my taste this lacks the complexities of other rums in this age (and price) range - including the Zaya, the Angostura 1919 and the Kirk&Sweeney. I'm not getting a stand-out characteristic, as would be my hope for a rum in this price range
I was expecting even more from this bottle based on what I have heard and read about it. It has a lot of high ratings if searching around on internet. It is much better with dark chocolate! more tasty and a lot of the good taste comes forward. If you let it brief for som minutes it becomes better, based on that I change my rating to 9 instead of 8. After testing different years and bottles my experience is that it differs more then other Rum brands. As always with Rum the taste could differ and is not always exectly the same. It boecones better and bettter👍🏻
Everything the advertising and literature says about this rum falls flat. I bought two bottles, for myself and my old man (67 year old Cuban), we both had one drink and put it away. I returned my bottle. Color is beautiful. Finish is boring. There was nothing there to make me desire another drink. For a solera blend of up to 25 year old rums, this showed almost no complexity.
I really enjoyed this rum. Sweet, vanilla and very light. Very drinkable. In my opinion the simplicity of this rum is what it does so well. There are no surprises and what it does do, it does very well.
Not a bad drink on the rocks. Smooth, but not to sweet. My only problem is that they charged me $14 a shot.
This was the first rum I tried pure. And I fell in love with rum after sipping it. It's still one of my favorites, nice and smooth.
Quality-mature 7+/10 taste 7+/10. It reminds me millonario 15 but less sweet little more oak & some better for me but similar overall. Nothing unique or special....
Perfect sweetness. Soft rum that goes down nicely.
An industrialzed flavored commodity rum that is certainly not hand made. A total nothing burger ))
Going with the Atlantico Private Cask Solera tonight!
On the nose I get chocolate, vanilla, and maple.
First sip right out of the bottle was incredible. Shocked at how smooth this stuff is. Im tasting vanilla, oak, leather and maple. For a 25 year Solera I was expecting a little more complexity but as I stated in other posts, that never bothers me much as the flavors that do stand out are outstanding. Still can't get over how smooth this is. The finish has little to no burn and leaves you with a similar aftertaste. Overall great rum that I will be keeping stocked in my bar at all times. Na zdrowie! 🥃🥃✌
Well balanced, lots of vanilla and dried fruit and some arrack, but unfortunately a little too sweet for me. Once I got a bottle that tasted pure arrack more or less.

Easy easy to drink on the rocks and the right price for this smooth a choice
Very surprising for me. Good taste. Good while long night drinking in rum/whisky bar.
Full body, sweet taste, like it, but marketing is just a bit better than the content...
Decent rum, slightly hot but still flavorful. Vanilla, caramel.
Belle couleur, belle odeur, peux prendre sur glace ou en drinks
Fine smooth well balanced rum! Nose: vanilla fudge and butterscotch mixed with some exotic fruits. Palate: vanilla, brown sugar, toffee and pear in a sweet mix. Very smooth no alcohol at all on the tongue.
This is an easy and smooth rum to drink. Also very enjoyable mixed with some cola,
This is quite expensive for what it is. I'd definitely call it a flavoured rum rather than a spiced rum, in that the main flavour here is very definately rum...nothing else comes close. As a rum it's not bad. Quite smooth, a bit of aburn, but not too bad. The quality of the rum isn't bad either, though I'd say it was about medium.
After the rum, the other main flavours are oak, caramel and vanilla. If you want something cheaper, similarly smooth and medium sweet but a bit more interesting to sip, I'd recommend either Elements 8 spiced or St Aubins Vanilla. I think this is a tad bland next to them, but is still pleasant enough.
