Virgin Islands, British | Aged | 40% ABV

The Great British Admiralty first served rum daily to its Royal Navy sailors over 300 years ago until the ration was abolished in 1970. In 1979 Charles Tobias bought the recipe rights, formed Pusser’s Ltd. in the British Virgin Islands, and for the first time made the rum it available for public consumption.

Pusser’s British Navy rum today is the same blend of five West Indian rums as the British Admiralty issued to sailors.

Known as the “single malt of rum” Pusser’s British Navy rum is pot stilled using a similar method as that for single malt scotches, and with no artificial flavors is 100% natural.

I think the history behind this rum is more exciting and interesting than its taste. It was...okay. Not bad, but not the great rum I expected.

I love a Pusser's British Navy. Though my score may not suggest so.
The first bottle I ever opened, I was not so impressed and condoned to using it as a mixer for the famous BVI Pain Killer cocktail.
HOWEVER, I forgot about the remains I placed in their decanter. 6m later I revisited it. The interaction with the air in the bottle mellowed it out changed its flavors dramatically.
Now an "open" bottle always sits their with my other staple rums.
I like it neat or served in a PainKiller cocktail.

This is the one that got me into rum properly. Wonderfully balanced and buttery.

I really like this Rum for cocktails, although it is a little strong and not for everyone. I also love the history.

Even mixed In a rum and coke, this has too much rum flavour for me. Tried to sip and not that good.

ok on its own but but not as good as the other pusser's line. still a solid rum worth having on the shelve.

This is a great rum to toast Her Majesty, old shipmates or those still on patrol. It is a little more approachable than the Gunpowder proof, although it wouldn't pass the pursuer's test. A sippers for old Salt's.

Love this in a Painkiller like they do in St John and Tortola. Have tried others in this cocktail and mothing beats Pussers. A little too harsh for sipping but when you want to kick up a punch or a mai tai this is great rum at a ddcent price point in New England ( 24$ 750ml)

Has some nice flavor of baking spices, oakiness and on the dry side. Best mixed in cocktails, however, if you choose to drink it neat, add an ice cube and let it breathe for 10 minutes or so to intensify the fruity aspects of this rum and downgrade some of the alcohol and harshness.

In my youth, I took a cruise in the British Virgin Islands. Since then, this has been my go-to. It has body and authority. I largely drink it with tonic, which lets its character shine through. A solid, everyday rum.
