Now this is some good stuff
Sugar: Estimated at 27 GPL. Bought this in Cuba last week and the clerk said it's a blend of 18 and 20 year old rums. Maybe. At first sip I had a serious case of Deja Vu. Wait a minute this tastes like a bit Pusser's Navy Rum but not as good. I did a side by side taste test and the colour, aroma, and taste are similar. Old wood, leather, smoke, and burnt sugar are all there as in the Pusser's but there’s a lingering vegetal taste. Overall it's an okay Navy style rum that I would use as a mixer. It's $100 USD in Cuba and at that price it’s overpriced when compared to Pussers.
Top notch release from Cubay!
Presents a wonderful touch of wood notes with fresh fruity aromas and has a long and persistent taste that just lasts forever.
Not to be confused with it’s not less tasty little brother the Extra Viejo!
Has some nice sharp tong with a bit of smoke and wood but the finish is soft as you expect from an aged rum.
Bit expensive in Netherlands but for sure I finish the bottle with a smile.
Lors de vacance à Cuba, je me suis payé un petit cadeau. Je ne connaissais pas cette compagnie de Rhum cubain. Très beau produits à déguster avec amis et amateur de bon rhum.
