Rum tasting in Baton Rouge continued with Prichard's Cranberry. Decent bottle and label design. Mahogany color. Pure alcohol mixed with plenty of cranberries to your nose and palate when neat sipped. Strong and tart burn at the end. Mixed with cranberry juice as a base, not from real cranberries.
This definitely has a cranberry flavor to it but not much other depth. I need to try this in a daquiri and see how it tastes then.
You definitely taste the cranberry. Nice flavored rum because it is not too sweet like most flavored rums. It's worth a try.
I don't normally purchase flavored rums, however, I believe this is the only rum flavored with cranberries. This rum and Old Man Guavaberry Liquor are my favorites.
Prichards rum is tasty in itself and with the addition of cranberries, provides a nice road, less traveled so to speak.
At the distillery tour I took back in 2010, I was bale to taste this. very interesting and smooth. They use New England cranberry juices.
