Multiple | Aged | 40% ABV | Pot and Column Still Distilled
Plantation XO 20th Anniversary rum is a combination of pot-stilled and column-stilled Barbadian rums that are initially aged in the Caribbean in ex-bourbon casks for 12-20 years. They are then transported to France for a second 12-18 months aging in small French oak casks.
The first bottle of Plantation XO 20th Anniversary was created for the head of Cognac Ferrand Estate Alexandre Gabriel to honor his 20th year running the company. This special gift has resulted in the bottling we see today.

The smell is pure roasted coconut with riped tropical fruits. The taste is perfectly balanced between the sweetness of the vanilla/banana flavours and the roasted coconut. On the long run the wooden chocolate notes strike but is well equilibrated with the sweetness.
An overall really good and balanced rhum with the perfect amount of generosity.

If you like rum, you will like this. Find it and add it to your shelf. It is worth it.
Love the balance and elegance from this Plantation Rum. From Barbados it is the perfect mixed of vanilla-coconut (from a first ageing in Barbados) and the spice and clove notes (from the second ageing in Cognac cask in France). I like all the Plantation rum range but this one is my fav !
My first sipping rum, i hope i'm not spoiled fore ever!

This one is the perfect drink around a campfire with a good cigar
Smooth, complex taste of vanilla, oak, fruits, coconut, bit of chocolate all in long lasting blend. We drunk with family and friends the whole bottle and we had great evening full of happiness and next morning we felt wonderful, maybe a bit tired, I can recommend this rum to everyone!

Very delicious rum, sweet in flavour, one of the smoothest rums.

The 20th Anniversary XO is smooth and very drinkable. There is quite a bit of arrack and vanilla with a hint of coconut, citrus peel and spices. Unfortunately t he aroma is on the closed side and the taste is too sweet for my palate.
I bought this after after reading the reviews on this site.
Admittedly I have never been a rum enthusiast, possibly due to poor experiences. I am however keen to learn more about rum.
It tastes pretty much like a coconut liqueur.
"An overly sweet saccharin note which make the rum taste artificial. ."

Very Enjoyable Sipper

Poured neat, it's very light on the nose with just a hint of buttery toffee and caramel. The first sip has a heavy mouthfeel with a warm flavor that travels from the middle of the tongue to the back of the throat. It leaves behind just a little heat, and flavors of rum and caramel apple. I like it best with just one ice cube with brings out a bit more of that caramel apple flavor that I could drink all night. This is a great sipper!
