Multiple | Aged | 40% ABV | Pot and Column Still Distilled

Plantation XO 20th Anniversary rum is a combination of pot-stilled and column-stilled Barbadian rums that are initially aged in the Caribbean in ex-bourbon casks for 12-20 years. They are then transported to France for a second 12-18 months aging in small French oak casks.

The first bottle of Plantation XO 20th Anniversary was created for the head of Cognac Ferrand Estate Alexandre Gabriel to honor his 20th year running the company. This special gift has resulted in the bottling we see today.

This is indeed a good rum. It’s very sweet, with vanilla, chocolate and coconut flavours, very drinkable and even balanced, since the sweetness in my opinion is not so excessive. I just expected the flavours to be more complex

The best rum I’ve had so far (in my limited tasting experience). So smooth with amazing flavours and aromas all packed in to a beautiful bottle. Looking forward now to trying other Plantation rums.

Tastes totally chocolaty and coconutly. Not a very profound rum but the best everyday rum. And from my point of view currently the rum with the best price-performance ratio.

Update on 04/13/23 :
minus 1 point for too much sugar and less alcohol than labeled

One of my friend told me it was the best rum he ever tasted !!! I was not disappointed!! I would tend to say that he needs a bit of time to open, but when you reach this point it is delicious.

This really is an amazing rum. Yes, I understand that it's sweet and that some may criticize it as being overly sweet. My response to the "too sweet" critique is, so what? A rum can be both good and sweet at the same time if one understands that rum can be enjoyed in different contexts. Is this what I would want to be drinking on a scorching hot summer day outside? Personally, no; I mean maybe with a big rock of ice, but I would much prefer something lighter and drier. Nevertheless, this rum fits perfectly for a cool late-spring/summer's eve, relaxed by a fire after having enjoyed a nice dinner. That said, this rum's utility extends far beyond merely functioning as a digestif. It can be enjoyed on it's own and for its own sake. The nose gives a lot of dark brown sugar, caramel, and vanilla. On the palate one can expect a big difference depending on whether one ingests with or without air. Without air you will get mostly the brown sugar, vanilla, and caramel. However, ingesting with air causes a much more diverse range of notes including the ones just listed, but also added oak, toffee, and even some hints of coconut at the end which was a nice surprise. The length of the finish is not extensively long, but is still long enough to be very satisfying and leaves with the lingering notes of brown sugar and vanilla. Overall, for a rum that's this good relative to the price point it's sold at, purchasing this is a no-brainer. Not to mention the bottle is absolutely beautiful and will stand out in your home bar. Any fan of rum owes it to themselves to try this expression at least once.

Recently acquired a bottle of this for around ~£45. Comes in a beautiful bottle and case. It has a lovely nose of vanilla and is smooth to the taste. This is one of the best sippers I've tried and definitely one I will savour.

Lovely stuff, tried it back to back with Ron Zacapa XO and found this to be superior out of the two, lovely vanilla aroma, smooth vanilla, coconut and caramel taste. Lovely stuff.

När jag vill njuta av en riktigt god rom på alla sätt och vis så häller jag upp denna, SKA alltid finnas i barskåpet😁 perfekt balanserad!

This is not a real rum. It’s more of a liqueur as it’s packed with sugar and additives. Strong taste of sugar and coconut that overpowers anything related to rum.

If you’re a newbie to rum, you might enjoy but if you’ve been digging in for a while, this has to be avoided at all costs.
