Multiple | Aged | 40% ABV | Pot and Column Still Distilled
Plantation XO 20th Anniversary rum is a combination of pot-stilled and column-stilled Barbadian rums that are initially aged in the Caribbean in ex-bourbon casks for 12-20 years. They are then transported to France for a second 12-18 months aging in small French oak casks.
The first bottle of Plantation XO 20th Anniversary was created for the head of Cognac Ferrand Estate Alexandre Gabriel to honor his 20th year running the company. This special gift has resulted in the bottling we see today.

Very beautiful bottle and especially cork. The rum has almost no odor. The amount of sweetnes and vanilla in the flavor is way too much! Feels that they wanted to make a sippable rum for all by adding as much sugar as possible.

...a rozhodne nesklamal. Vôňa mi evokovala náplň, ktorá sa dáva do zákuskov, presnejšie do špicov. Chuť som očakával viac sladšiu, dosť sa mi podobala na Diplomatico RE, akurát mi prišla trošku "ovocnejšia". Ocenil by som nižšiu cenovku.

Smooth, baking spices and oak are prominent. Sweet caramel and vanilla. Very smooth

From my point of view a perfect rum. Nice golden brown color in decent and still elegant bottle. Main aroma and taste is caramel and vanilla, but not in a disturbing way. Cask is noticable too. Everything is well balanced. For me best value for money ratio even for non-rum enthusiasists.

So very good. Has become a favorite. Been wanting to try it for some time. Well worth the wait.
Very smooth, not too sweet, excellent nose, practically no alcohol burn. You can feel that last cognac cask it rested briefly. Love it! Wish to find similar taste profile.

Taste toasted marshmallows. Smooth upfront finishes with a little bite. This is one I will buy again.

Nagyon jó, különleges íz. Kellemesen lágy, érződik a sherry hordós érlelés.

Sophisticated rum with complex flavors of tropical fruits, vanilla, and spices. Smooth finish.
It tastes pretty much like a coconut liqueur.
"An overly sweet saccharin note which make the rum taste artificial. ."

Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

To me this is a true sipping rum. Soft, sweet aroma of graham crackers and cinammon. Hints of vanilla and caramel. Complex yet very soft aroma. It's full medium sweet upfront and warming. Graham cracker carries through in the flavor as do the hints of vanilla. Oak is apparent but smooth. Warming but not at all hot. Nice finish, drying and warm. A really great sipping rum! Purists may not like this one but judge it for what it is. It's good! I'll be keeping a spare bottle of this at all times!
Sept. 2019 - Revisited this rum recently and still find it highly enjoyable. Although I find myself gravitating towards less sweet rums recently I still found this an excellent drink, well balanced and complex. Smooth and easy sipping. I would possibly rate this 1 point lower if trying for the first time but I leave my rating unchanged as I still think it's very worthy. Again this is not a rum for dry rum drinkers or purists but as I said before, it is what it is and I think it's well deserving of it's high rating.
