Multiple | Aged | 40% ABV | Pot and Column Still Distilled
Plantation XO 20th Anniversary rum is a combination of pot-stilled and column-stilled Barbadian rums that are initially aged in the Caribbean in ex-bourbon casks for 12-20 years. They are then transported to France for a second 12-18 months aging in small French oak casks.
The first bottle of Plantation XO 20th Anniversary was created for the head of Cognac Ferrand Estate Alexandre Gabriel to honor his 20th year running the company. This special gift has resulted in the bottling we see today.

Great everyday rum. I love to sip it after a stressful day at work because of it tropical notes. It makes me feel like I am taking a vacation in the Caribbean.

Was on my wish list for a while. Really smooth, good rum to be sipped neat. Nice looking bottle, too. One of the best I've had.
Nice bottle, excellent aged Rum. Nose of bananas and warmed brown sugar, with a touch of coconut. Smooth as ever, taste of lovely sweet caramel and sugar, with a bit of vanilla. I didn't get too much oak in this one, which is perfect. So well balanced. Never mix this one- which should be obvious! Paid USD 43 in New York and worth every penny.

Bezpochyby celkově nejhodnotnější standardně produkovaný rum v této cenové kategorii.
Neobyčejně lahodný, pokud vám ovšem nebude vadit, že chutná spíš jako vynikající koňak. Nebo tak, jak jste si vždycky představovali, že by vynikající koňak mohl chutnat. Ovšem obohacený o sice velmi decentní, ale výraznou kokosovou chuť a vůni.
Chcete-li ještě razantnější kokos, zkuste Kaniché XO (https://www.rumratings.com/brands/1344-kaniche-xo) téhož výrobce.
Nepůsobí doslazovaně, i když maličko je.
Velmi mnohovrstevné pití - co karibského si v tom budete chtít představit, to v tom najdete. Vše ale ve velmi jemné formě; zejména ovocné tóny jsou přítomny jen v nádechu. Přesto to není žádní babské (ověřeno) ani teploušské (hádal bych) pití. Chybí mu potřebná chlapácká či zženštilá póza; jediná póza, kterou to má, je harmonicky sofistikovaný hedonismus, na což zcela přízemně slyším já.
Připočteme-li k tomu velmi zdařilou adjustáž, je to navíc luxusně vyhlížející dárek, který udělá radost i těm, co ho hned nevypijí.
Tato recenze vznikla na podkladě zatím osmi spořádaných lahví; další už jsou připraveny v mém skutečném "cabinetu". A nepochybně dokud budu moci chlastat, bude v něm vždy aspoň jedna do zásoby.
Ich habe diesen Rum sehr lieb bekommen und kann ihn nur weiterempfehlen. Habe ihn schon zum 3mal in meiner Sammlung. Gutes Preis- Leistungsverhältnis.
Fruchtig, nicht zu süss und ein touch von Kokosnuss.
Gut ausbalanciert, rund und weich.

a very sweet note, harmonized with a Long taste ... but the last year Version was better, the this year Version has a Little taste of pur alcohol.
comparable with zacapa xo. A little bit sweeter than zacapa xo but the taste and euphoric efecft is overhelming any rum
Léger, épicé, mielleux, complexe,soyeux. Un des meilleurs rhums à boire pur. Finir la bouteille rapidement car il a tendance à s'oxyder plus vite que d'autres rhums que j'ai éssayés. Bref, je ne suis pas fan des rhums de plantation mais la finission de vieillissement en fut de pineau de charente fait toute la différence.

A Rough Ride

I really wanted to like this. I’ve never paid so much for a bottle of rum and it pains me that this was such a let down. This basically tastes like a bottle of whiskey with notes of brandy and a little bit of rum. Now I know that this was aged with both used whiskey and cognac barrels but to the extent of the taste of whiskey that this tastes is too much. It really makes me wonder why this rum gets such praise. I bought so I could taste rum with notes of whiskey and cognac not the other way around. It seems that in order for a rum to be “good” it has to taste like whiskey which is counterintuitive to me since it is after all rum. Don’t get me wrong I like whiskey but if I had a choice between a lower priced whiskey and this I’d go with the whiskey every time, simply because it would taste better. Overall if you want a complex whiskey tasting rum with hints of cognac and have money to burn then sure waste it on this, however if you’d like a rum that tastes like rum I’d look elsewhere.
