Multiple | Aged | 40% ABV | Pot and Column Still Distilled

Plantation XO 20th Anniversary rum is a combination of pot-stilled and column-stilled Barbadian rums that are initially aged in the Caribbean in ex-bourbon casks for 12-20 years. They are then transported to France for a second 12-18 months aging in small French oak casks.

The first bottle of Plantation XO 20th Anniversary was created for the head of Cognac Ferrand Estate Alexandre Gabriel to honor his 20th year running the company. This special gift has resulted in the bottling we see today.

According to their website it is a blend of their oldest reserve rum. The plantation brand by cognac Ferrand is interesting with their double maturation with its first in the hot Caribbean and their second maturation in the cooler climate of France in ex cognac cask. The result is a smooth and complex rum.

It's presented in a very bottle but I wish I had the older style bottle as prefer the look of that one.

Deep mahogany in colour with copper hues. Really nice smell with hints of vanilla, caramel sweetness, some banana, chocolate and some cognac notes throughout.

It has a creamy taste, caramel sweetness with a little spice and some oak dryness throughout which is not overpowering moving into a nice long finish.

Even though it has added sugar and I believe caramel colouring its a very nice complex rum and pretty good value in the UK.

Love it.

Nice, but not particularly distinctive, bought on a whim and not disappointed but not particularly impressed with it either

Beautiful vanilla tones. Smooth and aged well. Top notch rum for sure.
Pricey but well worth it

A snazzy looking decanter bottle of XO rum from Barbados, aged in bourbon barrels before being shipped to France for a secondary maturation in Cognac Casks.
Nose: Hints of spicy oak on the nose, with guava, some coconut and dried banana. Buttery.
Palate: Spiced, creamy palate entry, with sweet vanilla notes and caramel. Oaky spices.
With a toasted oak caramel finish.
Tasty and good value for the $$

This is the one I reach for when I have company over who have never sipped a rum before. Great nose, just sweet enough, a little burn and great, long finish. Almost too easy to drink, my friends and I love this stuff so much we buy it by the case!

Very good rum, not very sweet in my opinion. It has a wooden bottle top.
This bottle will be one of my favorites.

The sugar in it helps smooth it out and there's is a nice sweetness to it but it still tastes relatively young compared to other highly rated sweet rums like Diplomatico R.E. or El Dorado 15 yr. I suppose I expected it to be sweeter in the way of a Demerara rum but with a Bajan flair. Decent rum but not worth the price tag IMHO. Similar taste to Kaniche XO which is made by the same place and significantly cheaper if u can find it. Update: One of the most overrated/overpriced rums there is, it’s ok but definitely not great. Your money is better spent elsewhere.
