Multiple | Aged | 40% ABV | Pot and Column Still Distilled
Plantation XO 20th Anniversary rum is a combination of pot-stilled and column-stilled Barbadian rums that are initially aged in the Caribbean in ex-bourbon casks for 12-20 years. They are then transported to France for a second 12-18 months aging in small French oak casks.
The first bottle of Plantation XO 20th Anniversary was created for the head of Cognac Ferrand Estate Alexandre Gabriel to honor his 20th year running the company. This special gift has resulted in the bottling we see today.

I love rum, especially aged. One of my favorites used to be Zacapa Centenario. I tried this Plantation and it was a great surprise. Warm, round, pleasant, with a long after taste. Not cheap at all, but worthwhille.
Very tasty, full body, spicy but very balanced. The one you are returning back to after experimenting with others. Great value. Always must have at least one bottle at home :)

This rum is just so smooth, through and through. Beautiful and unique bottle design that just ties this rum together. It’s great!
Rum has been a favorite liquor for about 35 years, but only in the past year did I discover how excellent aged Rums can be as a sipper of used to make an Old Fashioned. This one of my favorite so far!
A very smooth rum that is perfect to drink pure or in a mix ( but i think that mixing this rum is a waste of the rum) hints of vanilla and oak. Not to sweet just perfect for me!
Because of this rum I started drinking rums. I was lucky I got this one as a gift. It opened my eyes about rums. After few years tasting diferent rums, this one is still the best. But I havent tried more expensive ones yet.
If you’ve had the Plantation Barbados 5 year but want a more refined, aged, oak-ier rum that also makes you and your bottle collection look really fancy then this is the rum for you. Not nearly as sweet at the regular Barbados 5-year from Plantation but it definitely does not disappoint if you are a fan of their rums. Its price is high, yet warranted. There are a lot less expensive bottles out there that will do what this does. It’s the perfect bottle to ask for as a gift and it looks nice too. It also goes really well with cigars, even better than bourbon. But that’s probably because bourbon is garbage compared to rum. Then again, that’s just my opinion

I own many of the rums rated here with a score of 8 or 9. This is the one that I hoard. My other top choices are Brugal 1888, El Dorado 15 and Zaya. I'm not sure why this bottle only sells for $40 in Miami. Very smooth, Sweet and delicious for alcohol. Get it while you can
It tastes pretty much like a coconut liqueur.
"An overly sweet saccharin note which make the rum taste artificial. ."

Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

It is so easy to write about a product with exceptional value.
It is smooth, it has character and it is an explosion of themes. Most prominent vanilla, leather, caramel, coconut and cocoa. It stays and seems to change the theme every once in a while. It is just mesmerizing ....
To make a perfect product even better - ther is the bottle. It is extremely heavy, has a nice straw-binding and a beautiful wooden cap. Just by looking at the bottle you see the difference between high quality and the results even more expensive products can not reach.
So all in all THE perfect combination of taste, quality, and price.
There might be products out there with triple digits price tags, which might match or even surpass the taste of this splendid rum. But I don´t think there is anything out there that can touch this price-quality ratio.
