Rhum avec un coté piquant. Beau nez sur le tabac et le caramel. En bouche on retrouve de la cerise et de la pomme

Belle bouteille, le rhum est bon mais le 12 ans est meilleur et moins chers.

Spicy and cigarlike (not in bad way) taste, with kind of a hint of cherry. Alcohol smell and taste a bit harsh. Still a good an original product.

Found this new El Dorado special edition in my local store. I’ve never been a big fan of El Dorado rum but I like to try anything special edition. Their website doesn’t list this one. Label says that it is a blend of 3 stills with different characteristics and was distilled in 2007. The aroma isn’t very inviting, and has almost a chemical smell at first but settled down after sitting. The lighter rum that is blended in this is evident. It is not over sweet and has a mild flavor. Like my other experiences with this brand the initial alcohol rush is a bit much and overbearing. I let this sit for 15 minutes and a little more complexity came through and a little less alcohol harshness. Overall not bad and might be a good choice for people who like this brand.
