Plantation Barbados 5-Year rum is distilled from molasses and aged 5 years in bourbon casks before being transported to France for further 'finishing' in Cognac casks.
Plantation rum is owned by the French company Cognac Ferrand, which was founded in 1989 and produces wine, gin, and other spirits to sell in over 40 countries. The Plantation range includes 7 vintages from different Caribbean countries and 3 blends of multiple regions.

Tasted at Kill Devil Rum Club Plantation tasting at Laka Lono 5/28/20
Notes indicate a smooth sipper with a lovely finish. Aromatic vanilla that carries on into the flavor.

I bought this rum to add to my arsenal. It goes down easy and mixes well with pineapple or orange juice.

A smooth but sweet rum, with in the nose and mouth molasses, cinnamon and a little bit of wood. Not my favorite combination at all.

Well rounded and balanced. Vanilla frosting with rich toasted brown sugar and a touch of oak. All balanced and way too easy to drink

I generally stay away from dosed rum, but this one is a go to for me. Has coconut and vanilla flavor to it. I personally love this in cola, but itโs versatile and well worth having in your possession.

Did the Plantstion Rum tasting event a few years back. Not great, but not bad for the price.

Nice color, good taste and nice finish, good drinking for night. 7/10
Pretty good, but also pretty sweet. Not a lot of depth but very smooth.

Just fine for the price I guess but now I have sampled it I wouldn't buy again.
The tasting notes on the label are laughable really with nowhere near the complexity suggested. A one dimensional sweet orange flavour with toffee and a note of coconut adding a little interest, followed by some alcohol burn. A bit crude but inoffensive, I can imagine it is much better as a mixer ...
EDIT - tasted with coke and it's pretty decent.
At this level I would happily pay a little more for the extra depth of flavour from Diplomatico Reserva.

Sorry, I wasn't that impressed with this one. While it was only $15, I've had other rums for the same price, that I thought were better. Had a little too much burn for me, not smooth enough.
