If I should characterize this rum with one word, I would say: Coconut! But a LOT of coconut. This rum has a very sweet smell of coconut and other tropical fruits, which gives this rum a special character from the first sniff. The taste of it is similarly fruity with some hazelnut flavor in addition. Luckily, even though this rum contains a bit of added sugar, it does not taste sweet at all - I guess the sugar added is used for the smoothness of the rum, which is quite nice for a 5 year old. Very exotic bottle with a sugarcane net, and a real shredded cork closing.

Nice to drink but not to treassure. Empty it fast and get an other bottle

It’s a little burny neat but when you add some ice the tropical flavors really shine.

You can not go wrong with Plantation rums.

Much like the Grande Reserve but two years older i believe. Pefect everyday rum, cheap and tasty.

This rum is suprisingly smooth for the price point. I can actually sip this on ice. A bit too much fruit flavours for my palate, though. Until I find a chocolate-coffee-toffee forward smooth rum at the same price point, this will probably be my go-to all-round rum.

Nose - vanilla. One dimensional smell.

Tastes of vanilla, raisins and a bit of honey. Nice lasting finish. I was expecting it to be harsh for 5 year rum. but its not. For its price a very good option.

I find this rum to be smooth, but sadly not quite as smooth as its older brother, and missing some of the flavors I can distinguish in the 20-year XO. Despite that, there's no beating the price!

Za mě naprosto skvělý rum v poměru cena/výkon. Svěží ovocná vůně i chuť.

Awesome non-spiced rum. Definitely worth drinking neat to appreciate the complexity of flavors it has to offer. My favorite "regular" rum. It's pretty affordable, too. Keep this one on your shelves!

Aroma with hints of wood and cognac.
Taste is influenced by oak and vanila. Strong on the tongue and pleasant semi sweet finish
