Auf der trockenen Seite mit leichter Würze. Nicht scharf.
Nicht so scharf, guter Geschmack, aber nicht so intensiv mit vielen Aromen. Könnte mehr Geschmacksvielfalt haben.
Love this as a mixer in a Rum and Coke or even better when I do a Piña Colada. If you don't have, go buy it. You will not be disappointed
A wonderful aroma with notes of coffee and sugar. Soft but bittersweet taste. A great drink !
The natural vigor of the young rums gives an intense and flavorful spicy kick. Smoother than most "white" rums I've tried and presents a subtle sweetness as well as a tropical flare. The nosing and finish on this rum are also quite complex, resulting from the short Cognac cask aging. A great mixer for drinks where you're not looking to bury the spirits.
Call me the sugar police if you want but I know how to make an old-fashioned, I don't need a producer to do it for me - especially if they are going to call something "artisanal" and write a book on the label about how skillfully it is made blah blah blah. If it's so great why does it need sugar added?
This rum tastes decent enough, with good complexity and flavor - but I tried an experiment. I took the Real McCoy 3 yr - which is rated much lower and got some very bad reviews - added a little sugar, tried it (blind) side by side with this - and guess what? More or less indistinguishable. I did the same experiment with Doorly's 5 yr and Plantation Barbados 5 yr a while back with the same results.
Bit like Havana club 3 years. Nothing special but good with cola and ice
Interesting as a white rum, but it's not a true white rum in reality.
Easy to sip. Tastes flowery but lack length. Very short.
Tried this out recently as a replacement for Mount Gay Eclipse and I have to say it blows it out of the water. It has a great aroma and an enjoyable, satisfying, complex flavor that works perfectly in scorpion bowls. The color is a nice bonus as well, as it is less likely to contribute to the muddy color some tiki drinks can develop. This is an absolute bar staple for me now.
Personalmente, lo he dejado para mezclar, tiene bastante sabor pero no todo es el precio en un ron y aunque no pasó de los 10€, los hay bastante mejores a ese nivel.
This rum is well balanced and approachable. It’s not as flavorful as an overproof jamaican, but it has at least some depth of flavor from the blend and is extremely smooth. Solid overall rum
This $30 white rum would be perfect if you are an Appleton fan. It has a spicey Jamaican nose with ripe bananas. It can be sipped but would be best in a cocktail. I am a big fan of Plantation rums but a little too much Jamaican funk for me
Decent rum that works very well both as a mixing rum and neat.
Definitely the best white rum in its price range. A must for every bar. Taste like candy in cola. Stand between a mixer and a sipper.
Delicious sweetness. Only had 1 shot so far, but would absolutely have with the barest of other flavorings to let the rum shine thru.
It's pretty sweet with a honey after taste, not bad for basically a blanco/blonde.
I develop my profession in an area where making cocktails (except the mojito) is a rarity seen by most people with distrust. In addition, the rum-based combinations are monopolized by molasses rums of Dominican origin. I must also take into account the final price of the cocktail since the average income of my fellow citizens is clearly not among the highest in my country. All this forces me to be very careful in the selection of cocktails and rums. When I make a cocktail based on Plantation 3 stars I feel confident and my clients certainly notice that I am offering them the best of me and my bar.
First thing in the nose immediately after pouring is warming alcohol. After it sits and relaxes for a few moments hints of vanilla, sugar and soft fruitiness come out .
The flavor is smooth and light. Warming with hints of vanilla, and sugar up front. I get a little soda-like quality, almost like a cross between cream soda and root beer. It's fleeting and very soft. The flavors transfer to a soft bitterness at the end and the sweetness dries up. Finish is soft and fast. A soft lingering numbness on the palate. Very clean and crisp. This is a light bodied delicate rum with a lot going on if you look for it. The underlying complexity lends itself to creating great nuances in cocktails.
This is not a hard rum to sip. It's light and smooth. Light rum flavor with other soft notes combining to make a nice drink. It really comes into its own as a mixer when calling for unaged or lightly aged rum. Great in a Daiquiri, El Presidente and other classic cocktails especially those that call for Cuban or Puerto Rican style rums. I highly recommend this for any Tiki enthusiast as it's a great weapon in the Tiki arsenal. A solid 7 for a light sipper and 8 for all around use as a mixer. And at this price it's a fantastic bargain, $18 for a liter bottle in Ohio.
Dosage on this rum is 7 g/L according to the Plantation website.
Honestly, the only thing we have used this rum for so far is to make mojitos. But they were smooth, tasty and didn't taste like they were made with turpentine.
Fantastic taste. Delicious. Smooth. Light in color but don’t let that fool you. This is no Bacardi silver. Robust flavor. Oftd but less flammable. My new favorite.
En trevlig vit rom med mycket smak och doft. Imponerande
Very grassy, exuberant, herbal rum that will give your cocktail an oily touch
This rum is superb. It mixes fantastically and has a very balanced flavor. Makes excellent Cuba libre or dark and stormy. Well worth the price.
Being a denizen of semi-rural Australia I had to mail-order this. Admittedly it's only the third type of white rum I've tried (besides Bacardi, the other is the atrocious Havana Club) but I found it delightful. I don't drink rum straight but this was fantastic in a Mai Tai or with vanilla Coke.
