Pampero Especial

Took a punt on a bottle when I spotted it on offer in my local Tesco. One of the best readily available rums in the supermarkets. Smooth taste and a good, complex flavour. Strangely not always kept with the other rums but worth seeking out for a taste.

The color is very dark, the smell is not to strong in alchol but a good mix in flavour. The taste is smooth in the beginning, bitter in the middle and smooth bitter in the end.
This rum is surprising me with everything for a good price

Spanish style rum from Venezuela which is great for cocktails. With it's spicy alcoholic taste it is sip'able but can't compete with more aged rums. Decently priced I love to use this rum in cocktails and prefer it over other similar rums like Appleton estate

Was able to sample this thanks to a friendly bartender on a slow lunch hour. She recommended it in Coke, which I enjoyed. Rum&Coke is my go-to cocktail. It was a noticeably nicer version made with the Pampero. Bartender noted (and I agreed) this would not be nice enough to enjoy straight/on the rocks. But for a quick mix with a dash pf flair, this seems good.

Strangely this rum is lower rated than I expected.

Ist a light rum with dry taste at the end, is good for mix with coke or similar and sometimes, give you an extra flavor in mix cocktails, better than havana or bacardi for example, winner silver medal en 2017 in San Francisco World Spirits Competition

Of course this is not a "high-end rum". This being said, price quality it is certainly worth its money. This is the standard rum I have in my rum cabinet to mix with Coke. Pampero rum has a vanilla/caramel flavour, which fits very well with Coke.
Wait for a hot sunset in summer and make a good Cuba Libre with this rum and you will be surprised!

Smooth Vanilla taste with a sublime spicy feel. Runs very smoothly, a very pleasant experience. Very good value for its category. Strongly recomended for daily consumption, will not let you down

Tento rum jsem dostal od svých synů Vánočním dárkem. Moc jsem od něj neočekával, ale nakonec milé překvapení. Při prvním doušku, jsem nevěděl co si mám myslet, pořád jsem jej očichával a pomalinku upíjel. V závěru jsem již cítil nějaké květy a malinko ovoce. Jeho drsnost, která v závru přechází v jemný dozvuk mne překvapila, ale nakonec mi zachutnala a proto dávám poměrně vysoké hodnocení.
