Thanks so much for submitting a report. It has been emailed to the Rum Captain and will be actioned shortly.
Pampero Aniversario was first crafted in 1963 to commemorate the Pampero company’s 25th anniversary. The rum is a blend of rums ranging in maturity from four to six years and aged in whisky and bourbon barrels.
The Pampero distillery was founded by Alejandro Hernández of Venezuela in 1938. The brand is now a division of the world’s largest liquor holding company, Diageo.
I put it simple - for me this is less intensive but also less expensive El-dorado 12. Sweet and caramel.
Opravdu překvapivě (vzhledem k své ceně) dobrý rum. Příjemná lehce nasládlá vůně rumu s nádechem vanilky, karamelu a sušeného ovoce. Po upití příjemně hladký s nesladkou chutí vanilky, sušeného ovoce a čokolády. později zůstavá plnost s příjemnou dochutí koření.
Pampero is not maybe rich in taste but has something alluring, simplicity sometimes is the key. Also it has this wodden hint that I love and search in rums, and it is not very expensive.
Final verdict: Maybe some day I will give it another shot
Tenhle rum se umí krásně prodávat, pěkná láhev v kůži, dobrá a vyvážená chuť, jenom mě po něm zůstávají na jazyku zvláštně slané dozvuky, které se mě nelíbí.
Con regusto a miel y caramelo, extremadamente suave y mucho cuerpo. Fantástico para tomar con postres
I like this, I think it’s because my past contains a lot of dark navy rum and this kinda, sorta, maybe reminds me of that. On the nose there is dark chocolate and tobacco and when the drink was set to one side I noticed the smell of sherry wafting up from the glass.
I can’t really pick anything individual out in the flavour it’s just deep and rich, I point to it and say, that’s rum that is.
Since my initial tasting I have chucked in an ice cube and as that melted it opened the flavour even more, giving the rum a slightly less intense but broader flavour. For me I think any decision whether to drink this unaccompanied or with a touch of water/ice cube will be down to mood/craving.
Lovely deep amber-red colour. Slightly oaky, butterscotch notes. Lightly fruity, some leather, nutty. Smooth, sweet. No burn. Soft... As it fades, there is a very light tobacco note. This rum is so fine, it would be a shame to mix it.
Nice and smooth but could be more tasteful. Good to have in the collection but not the one That will be finished first. Bourbon like taste is a plus
It starts out somewhat strong. But the taste is really good and at the second sip the strong afterdrink is gone! Really good rum.
Flavors of molasses and vanilla with just a slight hint of alcohol burn. A great sipper but just as good with cola.
This is good rum, it’s not life changing but it’s nice. At £38 it feels overpriced compared to some of its competition but it’s good.
Rum má neobvyklou velmi tmabvou barvu, chuť je vyvážená ovšem ničím mě nezaujala.
Pure, on ice or as a cuba libre : always a pleasure!
This is a full bodied aged rum with sweetness and fruit. I love short rum bottles and this one is among the shortest. Most of the bottles on the shelf at the store come in a leather wrap which prompted me to buy my first, just because. 5 bottles later I still keep it among my favorites. A good sipping rum with Warm happy vanilla and fruit. Mellow and well rounded.
Smells of coffee and toffee. Rich flavor or caramel and rum with just a tinge of sweetness and long finish that leaves you wanting more.
A decent rum with a common spicy taste. It's good for casual drinking and has an affordable price. Nothing spectacular.
On the nose I detected some wood aromas, almost of smoke. On the palate there is a small hint of sweet at first immediately replaced by a spicy, almost fiery taste. It leaves a flavour of spice and a little bit of smoke. I think that if you like whisky you might like this. I suggest (as the barman that served it to me did) to try it out with some dark chocolate. Let the chocolate melt in your mouth and then sip. The spiciness of the rum will be milder and the chocolate will really go well with it.
Alcohol bite up front that lingers on down. Caramel hint.
Maybe just not quite smooth enough to be a sipper, maybe it is.
Nothing spectacular here - just another alcohol with a burning sensation. The rum taste is quickly gone as if you did not even drink it. But it comes in a nice leather packaging - it can be used as a gift that seems more extraordinary than it actually is.
This has become a favorite. Not quite a great sipper but with an ice cube and a splash of water it’s a pretty strong contender and if it’s not a top 10, it’s at least a top 20. It has a strong molasses flavor but isn’t overly sweet. It has a hint of vanilla but again isn’t over powering. It has a bit of a bourbon smell but it doesn’t overwhelm the taste. It is fairly complex. There is a hint of tobacco and berries. I love the leather pouch it comes in [it will remind you of your pirate days ;-) ]. For under $30 at Total Wines, it’s a value that’s hard to beat.
Well ballanced, fruit and vanila tones, but weaker body and short aftertaste.
Awesome nutty and little sweet taste. Beautifull colour...maybe not especially nose...little to strong spirit. After a while little to much alcohol in taste. Need to drink cold.
On opening the bottle I got the aroma of butterscotch and coffee. Comes out of the bottle a beautiful caramel color. The first sip I get the taste of butterscotch, coffee, and an unidentified taste. Goes down very smoothly
