Mooi rum. Heeft eerst een lekkere rokerige smaak met tonen van caramel en vanille. Heeft een lekkere afdronk.
Taste is a personal opinion you do not have to take after me, of course it is a good rum.
The leather taste opens up immediately and it's a major note on my pallete along with a darkness of the liquid.
This rum is quite opposite in terms of sweetness to it's competition in it's price range - it's far from sweet. Leather, tobacco and maybe wood notes, makes this a good choice for go to everyday rum. You wont be bored, it's rich on pallete and it asks to be discovered again and again. Afterburn is quite harsh.
Mein Einstieg in die gehobeneren Rums. Fand ihn immer super lecker. Inzwischen weitaus bessere Rums gefunden.
Skvelí pomer cena / kvalita odporúčam každému na ľahké ochutnávanie
Very dark, deeply mahogany red color is very attractive. When swirled in the glass the legs take a long time to appear and then they are very thick, slow, and teardrop shaped.
Sweet, but not very sweet. According to recent sugar tests the Pampero comes out to 12g/l which is only very moderately sugared.
It was my first rum and i liked it. The begin of my passion for rum.
Thats probably the best low priced rum (22€), that you can drink pur.
The perfect entry into higher quality Premium Rums for any newcomer. For that kind of price you cant get anything better.
The Rum itself is tasty, heavy, not to sweet and makes you want to have more. Also good to mix cocktails with.
Quite light and buttery.
"It’s a pleasant nose which suggests good ageing and there is a light oak to the nose which is well balanced."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Approx. 2 years ago, when I had tasted it for the first time at a joint tasting event, I had not quite liked it, so I wanted to see if there was any improvement since that time.
This is 40% ABV rum from Venezuela (4-6 years old), which was stored in barrels of American whiskey and bourbon. It is delivered in a nice chubby bottle with real cork, which is not standard at this price level. The package is either in a leather bag (more often) or in a paper box.
Color: Dark mahogany. Due to its age the rum had to be definitely colored.
Aroma: The actual smell of rum is not very intense, but the alcohol is quite strong. At first the smell is so sweet, but then it changes a little to musty. Vanilla, caramel, molasses, gingerbread, bitter plum jam and bitter cocoa were recognizable. For the first time, I felt something that reminded me of the smell of a leather. At the end you can scent the smokyness and wooden tones.
Taste: Not as sweet as is often written, but definetely not dry. It's somewhere in the middle. Overall, it is less substantial and more watery. Again, you can smell alcohol quite strongly, even after a few minutes of evaporation. After drinking, you can smell vanilla, caramel, raisins, dark cocoa or very bitter chocolate, dried cherries and smoky wood at the end on the tongue and palate. The finish is so bitter-sweet. The aftertaste is quite short.
After a thorough tasting, I must say that not much improvement has taken place. Rum is so immature and lacks the fineness of older pieces. But at the party to drink it is OK. Diplomatico Mantuano reminds me a bit when I evaluate the taste.
