The Pampero distillery was founded by Alejandro Hernández of Venezuela in 1938. The brand is now a division of the world’s largest liquor holding company, Diageo.

Let this one sit for a while and then enjoy a nice sipping rum. It leaves a sweetness behind and a little bit of alcoholic burn.
A pretty decent but nothing special sipping rum. On the nose you get bananas and some hints of coffee while on the palate you get chocolate and oak. Not bad at all!
Dark mahogany in color. Light sweet notes of wood, leather, vanilla, orange peal on the nose. Taste is very complex, alcohol bite is gentle and warm, layers of leather, wood, orange peel and some tobacco mingle for a long time. I can see why it has it's awards. Overall very easy to recommend, especially, if you like a little sweeter rums, like I do.
This is just a confusing rum for me. Let breathe 10 minutes tried neat and not too sweet very little burn. Put on ice and was a little better. While there are some flavor notes everything just tastes artificial. There is no finesse and the rum just seems unfinished like steak that was pulled off the grill a few minutes too soon.
Has great molasses notes and a smooth finish. A friend of mine got a bottle for his graduation and it is a definitive later purchase. From one who really enjoys wine, this is one to note and look for later.
This is an outstanding rum fro Venezuela. Slightly sweet but bold and complex flavors. One of my favorites!
Quite light and buttery.
"It’s a pleasant nose which suggests good ageing and there is a light oak to the nose which is well balanced."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

The smell never got better no matter how long it sat straight astringent nose. The first few sips were decent but slightly harsh it was not until I was a quarter thru the bottle it started tasting less harsh. This goes down easy in the throat but a bit dry. I could not detect much flavor or sweetness in it to be honest the dryness masked the flavors for me a bit of water did not help. I mixed it with some coke and that seemed to help out in terms of flavor. I ended up drinking the better part of the bottle in a sitting. I rate this highly because it gave me no ill feelings or hangover at all. With this bottle I consumed 2 cigars, a Triple whopper with cheese, bacon, ketchup, mustard, mayo, A double cheese burger no pickles, French fries, and 3 bbq chicken strips. Then I passed out and awoke early the next morning feeling great. Because of the no hangover effects I upgraded this from 7 to an 8.
