7,5:On the palate, the attack is smooth, and the aromas are in line with the nose, with caramel (still dominant), roasted/chocolate and wood, distant fruit. Coconut is replaced by tobacco, note of mentol, which make an appearance.
6,5:The finish is rather brief, with tobacco and discreet vanilla remaining for a few moments before fading away.

This is really good. Different from what I'm used to but really good. Best neat in my opinion.

Great mouth feel! Maple syrup, raisins, and oak flavors. Nice complexity without getting muddled. Just a tad on the sweet side. Long finish with hint of banana. Very nice overall.

It has the same flavor profile and maybe a tad better. The leather bag it comes with went right into the trash but the rum in the bottle went down smoothly! I can see me going back to this.

I initially considered my first rum good, then I realized that it's not that great, drinkable in small quantities or in cocktails

The finish on this is so astringent that it doesn't allow me to taste what seems like a promising flavor profile upon sipping it. Shame because it's a beautiful bottle and a lot of folks seem to like it. Sadly, it has not been enjoyable as a sipper for me.
