One of the best rums from Venezuela. It has a great Flavor with a touch of wood
very nice bottle, not expensive, and smooth in taste like more exclusive rums
I love this product. Perfectly balanced lovely oaky sweetness with a dry finish.
Read a great tasting note for this a number of years back; If the pipe smoking, cravat wearing, classics quoting members of an oak panelled edwardian gentleman's club, had their deepest thoughts distilled and preserved in amber...it would taste like this.
Hands down - one of the best rums out there. Very smooth, smokey/vanilla/caramel flavor with a rich aroma. I purchased 3 cases which are stored and will not be touched. This is because Venezuela could implode at any minute, taking with it this fine nectar of the gods. I'll continue buying/consuming a bottle at a time and leave the three cases alone. I spent over 500 bucks on them because the rum is THAT GOOD!!!
Most pleasant Rum in this category - excellent taste
Es Excelente en Color, Aroma y Sabor, recomendado para el mundo entero bebedor de Ron!
My go to rum. It's in short supply right now and I found two bottles this weekend at a store about 45 minutes from home so I'm good for a while. That said I'm thinking of driving another couple of hours up the road to get another bottle or two. It's that good! Smooth tasting, not to sweet or spicy. I call it a grownup rum. If you can get your hands on a bottle do it.
In line with most of the positive reviews. For me a rum to sip and smoke a cigar on a nice summer evening.
Like many, the packaging caught my eye first.
My first taste was in an "old fashioned" glass... all that was available where I was staying. Noted the strong alcohol taste commented on elsewhere, but also a tendency towards dryness [yes, in a sugarcane-based product...]
Ended up pouring some [after I got home] into a small snifter and, as it happens, got called away for more than half an hour.
Here's the interesting part... having a sip after that period of time, I found that the breathing/aeration helped change the flavor profile, and improved smoothness a lot. A full-bodied rum, with "great legs" on the snifter glass.
So my initial tasting would have resulted in a 6/10.
This one made me raise the rating to a high 8 - hence the nine.
Bottom line: Whether trying it for the first time or revisiting it, pour it into a snifter and give it time to breath - your patience should be well rewarded.
This looks great with the leather presentation pouch. The first scent is sweet caramel (sticky toffee pudding!) but was a bit harsh. This soon mellowed and a drop of ice helps.
Great for sipping. A touch expensive to use as a mixer but tastes good either way.
A vastly underrated rum. Rich complex and full of flavour. Wonderfully presented as well. Up there as one of favourites
Muy buen ron venezolano, color oscuro, gran sabor y aroma, algo dulzón. Con o sin hielo, especial para compartir con buenos amigos.
I really like this rum. Good to drink straight up with just the right amount of sweetness. Sit with friends and sip over stories. Cool leather bag and all.
It spectacular for me. Unexpectedly it went down smoothly very strong aroma of oak. Has this leatherly taste a bit of black pepper bite. Its fells like a variation of scotch. Smell 8/10 taste 10/10. This rum needs good tempature 20-24 celcius maximum or alhocol takes control
Has a lot of wow factor as a gift due to the leather sack. Very smooth, so watch how much ice you use. Oaky vanilla flavour is really nice.
I really enjoy this rum. There's clearly still a little molasses added after distillation, but it's still one of the really pure and flavorful expressions out there. The cola and dark caramel notes are undeniable and it has a really smooth mouthfeel with long finish. Ultimately, it's hard to beat this rum but I hold a little something against it for being slightly adulterated after distillation. Still, such a shame to have it no longer available in the U.S. as fallout from all the crap going on in Venezuela.
In Denmark this rum has been listed as a cheap and discount option. This is not the case in its home market, Venezuela. Here it is priced exactly alongside reserva exclusiva and Santa Teresa 1867. I also prefer this to the latter, with a strong caramel flavour and a kick in the mouth. A little too much alcohol in the aftertaste
I'm into Venezuela Rum or as they say Ron. Pampero Aniversario is one of the best offered out of a long list of quality rum from this country. Smooth, not too sweet, yet a lot of complexity as it goes down. I highly recommend this Ron that rates a spot on my top shelf.
Excellent for sipping through ice!
the Pampero Anniversario is a good smooth and sweet ron! I personnaly like it and it's leather bag packaging looks very nice also!
Smooth rum, love the caramel and vanilla flavors
This is another good sipping rum. You have hints of oak, sweet molasses, and toffee. Highly recommended.
well, a bit sweet, full and rich at the same time - lovely for sipping
