Oronoco Fazenda Reserva

A nice find while traveling. I am not a fan of Cachaça, so when I saw that this was from Brazil, I was a bit skeptical. It had a fruity nose, and was sweet on the tongue with a little heat in the back. Would be great in a fruity cocktail. If I find a bottle at a store, I'll definitely pick some up.

I thoroughly enjoyed this rum as the grassy, floral notes worked well together. A more pricy cachaca but often times, you get what you pay for.
Pick up a bottle if you can as it is rumored to be out of production!

I don;t know what constitutes a flavored Rhum. This cane rhum, made in Brazil, has a distinct vanilla, matched by a clean, cane sweetness. It is very smooth, making me wonder what else is in there? So, for the purists, well, you may be taken aback by the vanilla top and bottom. I really enjoyed it. One of the most important qualities of any spirit is its drinkability. Second, is its adherence to tradition to its genre. Oronoco is as smooth as it gets, and has a cool, sweet pure cane gladness, with, as I've said, this real vanilla presence. Anyone who has purchased Mexican or south American vanilla, knows of its intense, clean and non-alcoholic properties, far different than vanilla bought for baking on the US. It seems this brand is no more. I can't find it anywhere.

A drinkable white rum, but nothing of particularly strong character. From a county that specializes in cachaca, this is a nice alternative. Too pricey to mix, but really not a sipper either. Perhaps a top-shelf daiquiri.

This is a sippable white, doesn't make me wince. Vanilla with light coconut afternotes. Slight empty glass nose.

Oronoco is a wonderful, light cane rum made with a unique aging process in Brasil. Unfortunately it was introduced into the U.S. with virtually no marketing and, though it had gathered small circles of intense affection, after a few years it was just pulled from the states by its distributor. There is truly nothing like it for a light taste that to me has a unique vanilla-and-coconut overtone (and I agree with statements about a slight "grassy" quality as well). Great on the rocks but also in some mixed drinks where its qualities are not overwhelmed. I still can't find anything to compare, though Angostura 1919 is my current replacement, as it is wonderful in its own but only slightly similar way. Please bring Oronoco back to the USA!

This is a light rum that is excellent on the rocks with a smooth cigar. Good job Oronoco. Only problem is it is difficult to find.

Very nice white rum! I like it on the rocks with a splash of coke better that any other white with coke. A real treat for those of us who enjoy the dark rums only this one goes fantastico with coke as do most white rums.. Cool bottle too!

Like the bottle, I think this has a woodsy flavor. A little harsh neat but good as a mixer. Although, it is too expensive to be a good value...especially mixing.

I received this as a gift and really like it but for the price I'll take Plantation 3 Star all day.
