Now, I will try to be as levelheaded as possible about this one, but it will be hard, because this was horrible. I love a Bounty now and then, but a rum that tastes like a liquid Bounty gets a hard pass from me.

Nose: Coconut, chocolate and simple syrup
Taste: Coconut, chocolate, simple syrup, coconut, coconut and sugar
Overall: This is just to sweet. After a sip or two I passed it on to my girlfriend (major sugar junkie), and she was almost unable to finish it, which to me is a indicator of a rum, that have lost it ways and have become more of a syrup, than a liqueur.

Kokos och choklad. Sรถt och fyllig smak, lite som en pralin.

Tried a glass on the rocks, very thick with liqueur consistency and sweet flavour

Enjoyed the smell. I would characterize as liqueur style of rum with predominant caramel flavor. It's fairly sweet and syrupy in the mouth but would make a nice after dinner drink. Only 35% but a bit of a burn is still present. Added Coke and made a disaster - not good. Stick to straight or on ice and it's a decent 6.

One of my regular go tos. Wife loves this also. Deep, wide maple tones on the palate with pleasing coconut finish. Quality Dark Rum, Well priced

A good cocktail rum and may be not a favorite of many but I love it

Many flavours from chocolate to vanilla to citrus to caramel. very soft and long in the finish despite 37% vol. At room temperature I like it the most! I didn't know the 5.year-old before, so I don't mind that this one tastes completely different.

Although by definition a liqueur and not a standard โ€œ rumโ€ this stuff is why I have so many unfinished bottles of other rum. Sure the Dictator, Diplamatico and top shelf stuff all goes, but the Ratu stands alone, and unfortunately the issue is with this rum that once the cap comes off, it rarely ends up back on before it quickly evaporates. The grazes and cuts on elbows and knees, the gastric ulcer, marriage counselling, early onset dementia, blackouts and gout are a small price to pay for the almost religious experience of being able to attain states of advanced refreshment with this titan of the rum world. There is not a rum drinker I know, and even some of those strange folk that donโ€™t like rum, that have tried Ratu and not been stricken with the immediate need to drink more. A lot more. It may be so good it is actually evil. That is why I only gave it 9/10, just in case it has got some kind of supernatural omen in every bottle that makes you want it. The only reason I go to work now is to buy more. Try it if ye dare, and at thine own peril!

This 8 year old Fiji rum got turned into a liqueur - very sweet and clocking in at 35% compared to its counterparts at 40%.
Deep and rich flavor - cacao, coffee, coconut and baking spices.
Too sweet for my palate, but chilled its a nice shot and in your coffee, instead of a coffee liqueur in cocktails, or just over vanilla ice-cream as dessert - itโ€™s phenomenal.

A rum that when first opened was fairly easy to drink.
However as time passed, the flavours became overpowering. Now it still works well with ginger beer.

Too sweet.
Artificial sweetness taste and sticky.
Back ground flavours nice but the fake strong sweet coconut taste isnโ€™t for me.
