This is a better rum than other Bacardiโ€™s. sweet and slight after burn

Nice smooth drink with robust flavor of the park aging.

Still on qurantine, still alive.
Trying two not expensive and not too old drinks side by side: Bacardi 10 vs Porteno 8.
Firstly B10. Strange etanol on the nose. Seems does not evaporate in a while. Pretty smooth on the palate, but again the same hint of the alcohol bites and ruins the taste. The aftertaste is the best part of this exercise.
Then there was P8. Light and semi sweet. Again, nothing special in the taste, but it is simply more attractive and fine.
So Bacardi 5.6 - Porteno 6.5

For an aged Bacardi it's not terrible, just not what I was looking for in an aged rum. Slight alcohol nose at the start, sweet flavor and minimal burn, and lingering sweetness with some oak at the end. Try it and see what you think.

I'm surprised this bottle doesn't have a higher score. First sip I kinda held my nose thinking it was gonna be comparable to the bacardi 8 year. This rum is insanely smooth. Really good taste and right after you swallow it it;s gone like it was a sip of water. I can see people not liking this rum for that reason, it doesnt leave a nice big sticky flavorful aftertaste in your mouth, but I wouldnt hold it against it.

As a Puerto Rican Iโ€™d love to give this rum a 10 but I canโ€™t. ๐Ÿ’” itโ€™s so spicy, not smooth at all. I even added coconut water (from a coconut, not some weird store bought bastardized version that comes in a pretty bottle) and it was still pretty harsh. Save your money and just get Bacardi Gold for the same experience.

A surprisingly good rum for a very reasonable price! Good quality from Bacardi.

I tried this aft6er the standard Bacardi 8 year old.

I have since re-rated that from 8 to a 7 as my run experiences change

To be honest I finished the bottle a while ago and neve rated, from what I remember its sweet and vanilla based.

Its ok as a sipping rum but not up to what I normally consider to be benchmark.

Would buy again its definitely above average

Clear amber in color, bit darker than 8yo. On the nose I get quite tame peach and hint of ethanol, but nothing to push away from. On palate it gives small amount of spices, nice alcohol taste even and subtle sweetnes of peach, banana, pineapple and some dusty oak. Very much positively surpriced byt this compared to the 8yo. Almost fullbodied, a bit sweet, ok blend. More mature distill is clearly the winner here.
