This Rum is delicious! Super smooth. The flavor pallet is wonderful. The aroma is sweet. The only reason I didn’t give a 9 was because the color is a little lighter than I’d like.

Alright but a bit oaky for my liking. Vegetative and pear flavours. My low rating could be a result of just coming off a bottle of appleton 21 year. For a low-end offering from a familiar brand its not bad but just doesnt compare to other bottles around the $50 mark.

The Cuatro and Ocho reviewed, so the Diez remains. At this pricepoint I feel I can be a bit more critical so here we go.

Just like with the other two the nose is typical Bacardi, first boozy, then some acidity (sour berries) but with a pleasant woody/vanilla aroma as well. The nose is rather sweet, even too much so.

On the palate the wood is very dominant and pushing the other aromas a bit aside. Not that the wood is so strong but because of the lack of flavour and character in the original distillate. The rum is simply too weak and bleak to form a counterbalance for all the aging flavours from the barrel. This drinks more like well aged wood with a bit of rum essence and makes you wonder why any self-respecting blender would aim at this result. Well aged nothingness indeed!

For this kind of money you can get some real rums; the Diez is easy drinking because of the soft tannines and (let's not forget) the added sugar but apart from easy it has nothing to offer. With the Ocho there was still some sort of balance left but this rum is simply not worth aging this long. The result is just leaving me with one question; why?!

Bought at a close-out price of $38. Starts out light, very smooth, slight burn at the end.

Came as part of a Bacardi tasting set. Hard to believe that this is made by the same species as some of their other offerings. Made the entire tasting set worth the money. Really nice and subtle, guess I'm going to have to buy a bottle now.

I have stayed away from Bacardi since the 90’s, but stumbled across this one over Xmas.

A very decent sipper and a great mixer.

It’s not as booze heavy as I expected, and it has a pleasant initial sip.

It’s reasonably priced, so I feel it’s a great value.

A really nice sipper, nothing incredible, but very solid sipper for a Bacardi.
