Purchased at a Duty Free shop. I didn't know Zacapa even made this version. Purchased 1 ltr for 33 EU. Is lighter in coplor than the other Zacapas. Slightly stronger aroma. Sligfhtly lioghter on the tongue, and slight burn on finish. Nice, but I probably would not repurchase.

A zacapa belépő rumja, ismerkedésnek tökéletes megfelelő.

I expected more of this rum from famous brand, bought this bottle in Dutyfree shop and I was big disapointed. Taste as bourbon or brandy more than rum ok if you like those spirits, but isnt my style of rum.
Never again. Next time I would try another bottle of same brand.

It’s perfect for cocktails, and even though not a bad rum at all, I would not recommend it for straight or on the rocks drinking. Zacapa has better bottles for that purpose :)

Not sure why they did this lower quality-priced version. Did not like the juice at all

I was expecting more for the price, I was mislead into thinking this one was better than others and it wasn’t. Sorry, not rated as high as others.

No added sugar in this one 0-4g.

It's a very light and young zacapa rum. The taste is very bright, it's also not as sweet as other zacapas. There is too much vanilla flavour with young wood in the taste. I miss the typical sweet caramel flavors. Zacapa works only in combination with caramel and dark fruit flavors.

It's the same problem with the same 2014 special edition. Too much herbs and not enough caramel flavors and we get a wird special edition.
The taste starts very light with vanilla, herbs and wood. Some light sweetness is there like burned sugar but no caramel. At the end I get some tannins from the wood.
I'm disappointed, not that rich and tasty like XO, it goes in another direction. Would rate it with 64 points.

Smell: vanilla, herbs, dry fruits, some tropical fruits, white oak, some caramel
Taste: vanilla, white oak, herbs, some fruits, burned sugar, spice, slightly orange peel (bitterness)

Sweetness: 1.5/5
Fruit: 2/5
Spice: 3/5
Mildness: 3/5
Value (33€): 2/5

Round in its own way and appreciable rum, but considering that it belongs to the Zacapa brand, one would expect more

This might be the last solera made rum for me. Because right after first sip you can clearly taste and feel this rum desparately lacks of aging. They state 12 years, but inside is nothing but 3-5yo spirit. Yes, it has some vanilla and chocolate, some coconut, and it's pleasantly dry (note for those who like sweeter rums), but everything of taste and aroma is way too diluted. And the biggest problem of this Zacapa is the finish. It's almost non-existent, the spirit drops down and in a few seconds you can feel nothing. So my conclusion is: if they put real age on a label (which is 3-5 years max), drop down a half of the price, this can be drank by the people who are new into rums, but for all the rest - no. 5/10 max.
