Aroma is rich and full sherry fruit. Same taste follows with wood and dark chocolate at the back. Quite pronounced flavors. I have noticed a lot of unobtainable Venezuela rums showing up in US. Got this and Carupano Solera Centenaria within last month as a stocked item. Anyway I personally like it less than Zafra Master 30 or 21 but it worth keeping around. Different strokes for different folks. It goes into my nightcap rotation. Ohh and nice bottle and paid $80 US.

Not gonna repeat the same things people comment all around this. Sherry, sweet, lasting body etc. Was the first premium I ever got and I was amazed by the chocolate taste of it. It is a fascinating combination coming from the sweetness and the wood.

These rums are definitely better than the reserva exclusiva. Still I wish they were a bit punchier, but incredible for a latin style rum.

Loved this in the bottle, in the glass, in the nose, in the mouth, in the memory.....

You can definitely smell the sherry finish on this one. Very smooth, none of the alcohol burn. Truly an awesome rum!

Probably the smoothest rum I’ve ever had. I like a Rum Old Fashioned and this was a dream with the diplimatico. Lovely deep flavours and you can definitely taste the sherry cask. My only negative comment is that the taste didn’t last long on the tongue, which was a disappointment because it tasted soo good!

Coffee tones with touch of vanilla, chocolate. Superb balanced, with a little of spicy, orange peel. Intensive vintage ...
Mild, simply great...

Lovely nose of toffee and molasses spiced barrel. Deep flavors of toffee again, juicy honey orange, aged barrel, maybe a hint of roasted nuts? This is complex and really really lovely

The 2002 of this rum’s was one of the best things to have ever hit my lips. Brown augar, banana, coffee and chocolate. When I first opened this bottle it was straight alcohol to the face. That being said, a couple of weeks after being opened it has turned in to a wonderful rum
