Ko Hana KOHO rum, a heirloom Hawaiian cane juice-based rum that’s distilled the same way as the KEA rum, but then aged in new American white oak barrels (char level 3) or used bourbon barrels for an unspecified amount of time. Bottled at 86 proof.via American Rum Report
Now this is some good stuff
"Koho" means "to select or choose." This rum spent 3–6 months in new oak, then 18+ months in (primarily) bourbon barrels before being bottled at 45% ABV.
Really playful nose. Vanilla/caramel, cherries, oak. Slightly reminiscent of a wine barrel ageing room. Tastes delicious. Punches above its weight.
This is a great Agricole! Even better than their regular KOHO imho.
I only rate it an '8' since Agricole is generally not my favorite style, but this is great!
Smells and tastes of oak, bourbon, sugar cane, and cinnamon. Really nice if you like the Agricole style! I highly recommend it!!!
