43% ABV. Nose: Very interesting. Faint astringency quickly vanishes. Rather briny, a good bit of funk, and a melange of fruit (mango, banana, cherry). A bit more like an agricole than a traditional. Or even a Jamaican. Touch of cream and bubblegum, but magically, not enough to derail the experience. The fruit almost reminds me of Prichard's Crystal, but is not terrible like Prichard's. It also reminds me a bit of a 4yo Clement Cask Collection I have. There's a hint of the florality of Denizen Merchant's Reserve. Enticing qualities of a young Port Mourant. And that Jamaican funk. the palate is dry and briny with a medium-short finish.
That nose... what a glorious nose. Tasted blind, I might have pegged this as being from Martinique, Jamaica, or Guyana—not Scotland! This juice is super impressive for what is likely a completely unaged rum. The only thing that bothers me is when I consider how much of this outstanding rum gets infused and sold as its Spiced counterpart. (It's likely the Spiced sells better than the White given the popularity of spiced rum in the UK.) Fine. But this rum should be appreciated for how good it really is. If I lived in the UK, I would make this a staple in my bar. (Alas.) I hope Spirit of Glasgow continues to distill great rum, that their profile increases, and that perhaps they have an aged expression or two on the shelves before too long.

Notes of red and green apples.
"It’s very fruity with a lot of red apple and pineapple juice."

{nose} the nose has lots happening, it's foam bananas and airfiz glue. If no one told you this was a Scottish rum, then you would have zero idea, there's all those smells associated with carribean runs from Jamaica even a touch of Guyana in this. You could literally sit and nose it for hours (I know I have) but there is so much going on, the leave of depth attained from an unaged (pot distilled) rum is credit to how it is produced.
{taste} there's a lingering sweetness through the taste and at 43% it helps bring all the flavours and nuances out perfectly, there's lots of sweet vanilla and slight citric notes to it which but not bitter citric notes I mean more like lemongrass. Its a rum with an Agricole feel to it with that sweetness it's a complex beast with lots of that Jamaican funk towards the finish!
If I didn't know there was a revival in the Scottish rum scene before then I certainly do now, incredible stuff.
