This is a typical mixing rum, good for cocktails. A nice feature on all Old New Orleans rums are the prints on the backside of the label with a print of paintings of historical and beautiful Nola houses.

At a recent Rum tasting my Nephew brought this as a gift. It was a hit! Now interested in tasting the whole line.
The aroma is very pleasing. Yes some woody overtones but a wonderful butterscotch touch. Good old brown sugar too.
Taste - Many amber rums reach out and grab you - this is seductive, like a New Orleans woman. Very little tongue bite, smooth in the mouth. It has a sweet/wood flavor and a real smokiness that I like a lot.
This rum is great to experiment with. It will stand up wonderfully with any mix, in a glass with a ice rock or two - even a splash of water. It will be hard to pick one below.
A 9 all day

Tried it and was not that impressed. Had it on the rocks. Might work as a mixer.

I associate USA with a lot of things but making rum is not one of them, so I was excited to try this one. If this is the standard, then it is better if they stick to something like making bourbon. Meaningless in the nose and sweet like honey in the mouth. I really was not impressed. It lacks interest and the burn is the only thing memorable. Cola is not helpful.

Sweet molasses with butterscotch, yet still has then young smell of ethanol. Light wood lingers but finishes like lacquer. Just too sweet but does well as a mixer.

Housed in a 150-year-old cotton warehouse in an industrial area of the city north of the famous French Quarter, the Old New Orleans rum distillery was one of the first entries in the new wave of American craft distilling. Old New Orleans is derived without the use of additives or coloring.

Raisins, melted butter and molases in the aroma, very sweet body - raisins, honey and caramel, mild burn in the tail

Bottle purchased in the French Quarter. Pours dark amber-almost brown. Crazy bad aroma of tire rubber. If you can get past the aroma, there’s a rich sweet honey and candy flavor. Unfortunately this is mixed with the sensation of chewing on Band-Aids. Burns your upper lip on finish.

Vůně - 2/5. Cítím benzín a med
Chuť - 2/5 - medový rum
Celkově mne neoslovil.

Yeah yeah you can make some decent cocktails with it - but its not drinkable straight. You'd think NOLA would be able to do better than this given the cultural influences on the city. Price point is fair though, at least in the area.
