Botafogo Spiced

if you're crazy about 'natural' Rums - forget this one. I love this one with Cola - occasionally. as the vanilla-like taste is *really* strong - my bottle lasts for months - as I drink it only "every now and then".. it stays next to Don Papa on my shelf.

A bit sweet rum. But a good quality for that price. I would recommend it.

Very interesting, complex taste with pepper finish

You'll definitely feel entire 40 volume of this rum but flavor is pretty well and after third shot taste becomes also pretty nice.

For 20 € its a decent rum, better than other options spiced rums out there from Captain Morgan or Bacardi. Chocolate and oranges notes dominate the palate, the after burn is not as bad. I like the design of the bottle too.

Nice one for the price range. I really liked it with coca cola signature mixers spice and on the rocks. It didn’t have the alcool taste of Bacardi for example.

I tasted the limited edition, which is not on here. It has a strong orange taste and sweet long taste

Explosion de vanille dès l'ouverture de la bouteille. Au nez, la vanille domine clairement, puis le zest d'orange après aération. On ne sent pas l'alcool.

En bouche, l'alcool ne prend toujours pas le dessus et c'est tant mieux ! C'est doux pour 40%, c'est rond, on sent surtout des notes de caramel et d'orange, tandis que la vanille se fait plus discrète.

On commence à sentir les épices sur la longueur. Un petit côté piquant agréable au moment où l'alcool se fait un peu sentir.

Bilan : totalement différent des spiced rhums que j'ai déjà goûtés, mais une toute bonne surprise, vraiment très original. Vraiment rien à voir avec un kraken par exemple, mais j'en prendrais aussi souvent pur que ce dernier. Il occupera une belle place dans la rhumothèque...

Agréable et facile à boire, il est d'un prix très intéressant.
