Easily consumable in a bind
A silly bottle, but it caught my eye - that's what it is for, I suppose. The rum is very decent, lots of oak, little sugar - the way I like it. It burns a bit after swallowing, though. I like it anyway.
By no means unpleasant, but the bottle is the best thing about this rum. It doesn't have much spice to tempt you to try it again.
First of all...the bottle is fantastic and you can't see in this but the face is typically painted. The thing i like most about this rum is all the flavors and spice notes that come through in smell and taste. They are there in the lower xxx version but the supreme loses some of the bite and is much smoother and easy to drink. You can lose the mixer and sip straight or on ice and enjoy immensely
Proper fuel with the aroma of candy and coffee. Dry and strong - not for pure sipping. It have harmonical aftertaste because it smoothed by a 12-year aging. It could be even better if there was no flavor added aromatic essence.........................................
What a disappointment and what a hard bottle to find here in the US. Smell is offputting but quite mild, color is nice dark but hardly any legs so indication that very little sugar in it, but the taste test was a shocker. The Old Monk Supreme tastes like a damp wet cellar, very offputting to my taste buds. Maybe the barrel was all moldy, who knows, but struggles to score even a 4.
