I normally go for aged rums but recently found myself in Natchez, MS, where the distillery is located, so had to give this gold one a try. It has a nice spice to it without being overwhelming. The thing that was so striking was the smoothness, particularly at the finish. This little distillery has won all kinds of awards and was picked as the best American Rum in 2014. If you make it to the distillery, the owner is a friendly guy who will tell you all about their process. Great experience and great Rum.
