Distilled 6/06. 1 bottle of 296. 50% ABV. Very warm nose. Oak. Herbs. Hint of brine. Overripe bananas. Very sharp palate. Very dry and astringent. Medium-long finish.
Worthy Park is one of my favorite distilleries, and I look forward to each expression I try. The continental aging for this rum is very apparent—perhaps more so than I would have liked. It almost shares more in common with the GD Moneymusk 9 than the recent Cadenhead's WP 11. Again, very dry, astringent, and herbal. Better than the Monymusk, but the sharpness doesn't let the Jamaican character play to its full potential. I'm a little disappointed (in fairness I'd also been building this up in my head for a long time before actually tasting it), but it's still very good rum.
