I bought this and and the Port cask and I can't decide which one I like better. This one has a great nose of cinnamon and citrus. The first taste is slightly sweet with the madeira definitely coming through but finishes with a nice and spicy kick. I will enjoy finishing the rest of this bottle.

English Harbour have never disappointed me. Bought me this during a vacation in Antigua, have one from batch 001 since before without have tasting it. I also got the opportunity to get a guided tour at the distillery (ADL) and the “ageing house”. My fantastic guide who origins from Madeira and is related to the founders of the brand told me that Madeira Cask Finish is the one of the three they’re most pleased with in batch 001.
But I can tell you that batch 002 is also very good, it’s very well balanced with rich flavours. The nose is a little bit week, but the taste and afterburn is great.

46% ABV. Piggy-backing on the success of Foursquare, it seems, with a special "cask finish." This rum has spent 5 years in ex-bourbon barrels, and 4 months in ex-madeira barrels.

The nose is pleasant; a bit sweet/fruity, and welcoming. I only got a small taste but it was equally pleasant, and reminded me the slightest bit of the Foursquare madeira-cask-finished rums I've tried. Fairly complex compared to EH's standard 5- and 10-year releases. Medium finish. Note: my tasting partner was less enthused, describing it as over-"sulpheric" and preferring the other EH finishes: Port and Sherry.

Aroma is woody and smooth. Taste is typical English style - woody and drier, bit harsh. The touch of Madeira you can recognize only slightly in aftertaste, which is shame.
From the Sherry, Porto, Madeira trio I like most the Sherry finish.

It's a smooth sipping rum but has still nice complex flavor. Slight vanilla, caramel, spice

A medium strong gold colour. A very sweet smell, some wine and spices. A very complex and nice aroma. The first taste is quite bitter, later on it gets sweeter. The finish is long and quite mild.

This is my first try from English Harbour. It was a new product at my local favorite store and was recommended. The aroma is subtle, pleasant, and inviting. The overall taste is mild and not distinguished by any certain flavor. Just ok/bland. Better rums out there at the $60 price.
