Visited the Neisson distillery while vacationing in Martinique. Self guided distillery tour ended with an open tasting bar. Neisson l'Esprit Bio was priced at EUR 27 per bottle at the distillery. Unique and fresh bottle and label design. Traditional super dry Rhum Agricole flavors complemented with plenty of grass, citrus fruits and a lot of floral notes to the nose and palate. Surprisingly strong burn at the end since its so dry. Rhum Agricole fan boys can easily add 2 points to my score.

On the nose, it's vegetal, fresh sugar cane, hay, grass, it's also pretty floral. Very wild, we find ourselves in the cane fields during the harvest season. It is powerful, wild, almost animal, one arrives on game meat. On the palate, we stay on the same notes, very powerful, vegetal, it's a killer! Different from the classic version but this one is a fierce savage almost indomitable. Excellent!

Goes along the same bath as a funky agricole, but this one doesn't have a alcohol burn that is bad. It still burns a bit but at least it give you a bunch of flavor to make up for it.

Lot of flavour (agricole notes, vegetal, grassy) in this one. Once again, a fine white rum that a) is not sweetened artificially (thank God), and b) has plenty of rum flavours (thank God). It does not contain any glycerine either (the wax that makes people presume that the spirit they drink is somehow better, because the mouthfeel is "smooth" - yeah it is, cause you're sipping added wax!). Excellent product from a fine distillery.

a strong, round butterish balanced white rhum, here.
The oily hint reminds us the Islay Caol Ila, with its light smokey touch.
Not heavy and still full. Really nice !

Interesting experience 7 out of 10

Aroma is typical wild agricole. First taste is surprisingly smooth and sweet. After few seconds is coming the alcohol warm and burn (but not too much as you would expect from 66%) Aftertaste is very long, pushing you swallow and swallow and swallow ... Interesting experience, how can taste the rum directly from column still.
