Thanks so much for submitting a report. It has been emailed to the Rum Captain and will be actioned shortly.
62.7% ABV (presumably cask strength). 273 bottles in this run.
What can I say... big, bold Hampden funk. Rocket fuel. Unsurprisingly, the flavor profile is very similar to Rum Fire. If you like Rum Fire, and just wish it had some wood influence and refinement, this is your jam. If you haven't had Rum Fire or a similar ultra-high-ester rum from Hampden, I recommend you seek it out first.
For me personally, I love most Jamaican rums, and I dig ester-bombs, but the Hampden profile just rubs me the wrong way.
6 for me, 4 for others, 10 for others still (you know who you are!)
50% ABV. Starts off harsh, with lots of grain—not unlike a whiskey. (A bit too harsh for a 9-year at 50%, but it settles down a bit after breathing). Loads of menthol and pine. Light hogo. Very crisp.
Only 274 bottles released. A fantastic sipper! Probably a great mixer also, but I didn't dare...
Note: this is the American import brand for Scottish brand Kill Devil (Hunter Laing).
