Bozkov Republica Exclusive

Surprising how many flavours this rum has. Initially strong orange and tart, then ending very sweet and rubbery. I don’t like the finish, which lingers in an unpleasant way. Nice bottle and branding along with being unique pushed this a little over 5, but barely.

Not a great rum but still good for everyday use or occasional before-hangover nights.

Voní trochu dřevem a kouřem. Chuť sladká bez dalších tónů. Není špatný, ale ani není nijak výjimečný.

Ale samozrejme se neda srovnat se zahranicnimi rumy.

Users of this brand got easily surprised by Božkov introducing this new retro drink called Republic. It's super sweet but compared to the original cheep version it's drinkable and you can actually find it tasty. Not only for drinks but just like that as well. Great value for its price.

Great move from Bozkov company. This rum is full of nostalgia for Czech people, because the Bozkov Original "not really rum" was used by our grandmothers in desserts and egg nogs. This exlusive version has the nostalgic taste of the original version, but without the disgusting aftertaste. Generally, it's average rum, but the nostalgic taste makes it good and I always like to have it for casual drinking.

The true is that it is slightly sweet, you can feel added sugar. The taste is simila to Diplomatico, I thing the company (Božkov) tried to get close to taste of Diplomatico. Nevertheless, I am sure you can find some differences there. I could compare with Captain Morgan spiced gold and Don Papa (all three bottles at home at the same time) and it is far better than CM and worse than Don Papa.

If you can find this for the good price, buy it. Its primary market are not caribbean rum veterans. I would say it is a gateway to rum world for common folks. It is sweet as most cheap rums nowadays.

Bought this one on vacation as a souvenir when we visited Bozkov. The rum itself is sweeter then some of the best vacation memories. It's low price and expectations combined makes it a okay for a souvenir rum... probably better for a mix instead of neat.
