A tester !
This rum erupts from the glass with a lovely bouquet—full of sweet oak and red wine. It's the sweetest Martinique agricole I've tried to date. For me (someone who reads "this rum is sweet but not too sweet" as "this rum is definitely way too sweet"), it's *almost* too sweet, but not quite. And it's super delicious.
After breathing for 15-20 minutes, strangely, it seemed to dry out a bit. Its smooth veneer started to give way to some "harsher" character—which I thought was delightful. That's what pushed it up to 9.
Not sure it's totally worth the msrp, but it is very good, and highly recommended.

Note : 65/100
I'm a fan of this agricole but it is a super specialist when it comes to the genre. The aging really doesn't tone down the agricole-ish but accentuate it. The fresh cane comes off like fresh grass and green olives. A really interesting cocktail ingredient and a lovely if not sophisticated, early in the night sipper. But again, highly specialized.
Légèrement boisé, avec un nez assez prononcé. Bons arômes en fin de dégustation.
I'm not sure i've ever tasted a rum quite this dry and "green" tasting. Not for everybody. Decent agricole though, if you are in the mood for something dry and french.
Très bon rhum agricole. Boisé et floral. Pas déçu du voyage

Rather dry if you're not used to agricoles, but fruity with noted of vanilla and pepper. There's a sense of spicyness and citrus that is enjoyable.
The finish is longer than you're usual Rhum.
