This is a solid rum, but lacks a bit of the depth and complexity that I’ve had with other aged rums. Eight Oaks seems to make a good product in general though, so it seems promising that future batches, given more time to age, will develop in flavor. For the time being though, with a crowded rum market, this one unfortunately won’t be finding a permanent home in my collection.

Appears that we need to watch for local distillers for the are crafting some quality beverages. This is the second Pennsylvania rum I have enjoyed. Discovered this rum at a Philadelphia Farmers Market over the Holidays. This rum does not look to be on their website. (Note: I am saving the bottle since it appears to be Batch #1) Excellent mature rum (ie aged scotch taste) which is wonderful on the rocks. The only reason I do not rate this beverage higher is that, from a budget standpoint, there are some high quality rums at a lower price point.
