Rum di tipo tradizionale, realizzato con doppia distillazione con alambicco a tripla colonna. Prodotto nel 2005 e invecchiato in botte ex bourbon, precedentemente carbonizzata prima di contenere il rum. Da questa singola botte sono state ottenute solo 380 bottiglie tutte numerate ed imbottigliate nel 2016. Il rum è stato imbottigliato in full proof (con gradazione piena direttamente dalla botte, senza la solita diluizione) a 50% di titolo alcolometrico.
All'olfatto: abbastanza complesso con note di caramella mou, tabacco e sul finale lievi accenni di torrefazione di caffè e cacao.
Al gusto: ha un corpo medio, con un primo impatto dolce e retrogusto leggermente vanigliato, seguito subito dopo da un leggero gusto agrumato. anche al gusto ritornano le note di tostatura.
Nonostante i suoi "50 gradi" l'alcol non è preponderante e non disturba. Il finale medio/lungo e la bocca resta pulita, indice di un distillato coerente e poco "aggiustato".
Distillato discreto, che ha una complessità media, ma nonostante questo è più adatto a chi ha già un po' di esperienza con tanti rum.
Unica pecca è che ha un prezzo secondo me un po' alto (forse solo perché in serie limitata).
Provate a berlo prima da solo, poi dopo aver mangiato del cioccolato fondente (dal 70 all'85% max), ed infine dopo aver mangiato una mezza fetta di arancia fresca (compresa buccia è importante) con dello zucchero di canna sopra. ;-)

Rum of traditional type, made with double distillation with triple column alembic. Produced in 2005 and aged in ex-Bourbon barrels, previously carbonized before containing rum. From this single cask, only 380 bottles were obtained, all numbered and bottled in 2016. The rum was bottled in full proof (with full gradation directly from the cask, without the usual dilution) at 50% of alcohol content.
On the nose: quite complex with hints of toffee, tobacco and on the final slight hints of coffee and cocoa roasting.
To the taste: it has a medium body, with a first sweet impact and slightly vanilla aftertaste, followed immediately by a light citrus flavor. also the roasting notes return to the taste.
Despite its "50 degrees" alcohol is not preponderant and does not disturb. The medium / long finish and the mouth remain clean, indicating a consistent and little "adjusted" distillate.
Discreet distilled, which has a medium complexity, but despite this is more suitable for those who already have a little 'experience with so many rums.
The only flaw is that it has a price in my opinion a bit 'high (perhaps only because in limited series).
Try to drink it first alone, then after eating dark chocolate (70 to 85% max), and finally after eating a half slice of fresh orange (including peel is important) with some brown sugar on top. ;-)
