From a local (UK) company, so I'm biased!!

This is a rum that has been knocked up by my local distillery/brewery and therefore I like it more than I possibly should. Normally I find spiced rums not really to my liking, but I do like this one maybe as it isn't too spiced (and because it is local). In fact I am not sure that I would go as far to say it is spiced per se, but some might find it so! Marmalade/oranges and caramel. The spirit is smooth and the oak well integrated given what they do.
I am a little confused, and I might have to go and see them as they state on their www...."We also distil our Rye and our Rum in Sarah [the name of their 500 litre still] and we then use a combination of careful brewing and modern scientific aging techniques to accelerate the process from raw ingredients to beautiful spirits."
The reason for the confusion is that the label states "hand crafted using cane sugar and molasses" - something the UK is not known for!! The label also states oak-aged in stainless steel, ie they add oak to steel vats. Usually I find that sort of thing doesn't integrate that well, but with the spices, all seems to marry well even if the description might be a little clumsy.
The www carries on with to describe a.... "unique aging system of ultrasound, heat and forced aeration." I am always a little dubious of these special ageing processes!!
