Myerโs Original Dark Rum is a blend of up to nine different rums of various ages, all of which are distilled using Jamaica's typical production method: pot-stills. The Original Dark Rum is slightly unique in Jamaica however, because some of the molasses used earlier in the process is added back in after distillation.
Myers rum has been produced since 1879 and named after its founder, Fred Myers.

Very good rum for its class! It's a black blended rum from Jamaica that has the usual caramel and molasses notes. A slight bitterness on the aftertaste as well.
Not quite up to sipper-level, but functions very well as a mixer in various cocktails. It's a staple on my liquor shelf.
5.7?? what a crime. this is a 7 at least lmao. makes a mean mai tai and is cheap aswell
It was a lot of fun to see this classic appear in BC Canada recently: private stores only of course. Molasses, oak, earthy, coffee, cola, leather. It makes for a strong base in Tiki drinks calling for Jamaican, but my taste for hogo has me reaching for newer Jamaican marques.
Considering the price i could have known what to expect. At least I did not try it neat. I tried it in a Dark and Stormy... Just a waste of good ginger beer.
Typical dark flavor notes turned up to 10. Would stay away from drinking straight up but can work well with the right mixers (Sunset or Mai Tai)
This rum I quite enjoyed. Delicious, and a true dark rum that incorporates flavors that leave the palate surprised.
Mixes excellently, good on the rocks, but can be overpowering at times.
If you like a very dark, almost bitter rum then this is the rum for you. Not a bad rum just too dark for me
If youโre going to be making some dark rum drinks buy it. Not sipping alone.
The rum is 50% inviting and 50% telling you to watch out!.
"Initially it is all caramel and burnt toffee almost like black treacle. As the aroma develops that rich Jamaican aroma also makes an entrance amongst the dense treacle."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

There is nothing really wrong with this except the flowery after taste. Nice molasses taste and a bit of a gentle burn , reminds me of Black Heart navy rum. Would make a good mixer im sure.
