Please input the URL directly to the vendor page with the rum for sale and we will automatically show it on RumRatings
Myer’s Original Dark Rum is a blend of up to nine different rums of various ages, all of which are distilled using Jamaica's typical production method: pot-stills. The Original Dark Rum is slightly unique in Jamaica however, because some of the molasses used earlier in the process is added back in after distillation.
Myers rum has been produced since 1879 and named after its founder, Fred Myers.

This is a nice but very traditional strong rum flavour. Not for those people who don't want there rum tasting like rum
If you like rum and coke this is a great full bodied rum. The aroma is great as is the rather strong spicy taste. I like it with an ice cube or two.
Be cool,

If you're into making tiki drinks at home as much as I am, then you'll pretty much always have a bottle of this stuff around. Great dark rum for mixing. A nice amount of funk, spice, and sweetness. About as good a bottle of $20 rum there is for my money.
Not much more to offer here, all the reviews speak to it like it is. I find this a must have for planters punch base cocktails but then that's me.
Another bottle rating a spot on my mixing shelf.
I cant say I liked anything about this rum, but I also cant say anything bad about it either. Not my first choice but a decent all around rum. I drank this on ice and it went down like water.
and tasty mixing rum. Nothing too special but solid enough

I found this way too harsh to drink with cola (diet pepsi), as it gave a medicinal taste. Im sure it has its fans, but i dont see the appeal. If this was the only rum available, id rather spend my money on a decent bottle of rye.
One of the staples for tropical and tiki drinks. It`s not among the best, not at all but some tiki drinks just need this rum.
Not anything I would drink neat. However, a staple for the dark & stormy. Not really my rum for any other mixer. I would agree it is good as floater...because it packs a wallop.
Ive always used Myers Dark as a floater for my famous home-made pina coladas, as well as in my Hurricanes. works great as an accompnier. way too stout for my sipping taste
Very dark and unique flavor, I think it adds a signature taste to tropical drinks.
I have not found the drink that this rum is best in, I guess that I will have to keep on trying. I like my drinks with as few ingredients as possible, but Myers seems to need strong mixers.
Great with little ice, tonic, and lime.
Nothing for a special occasion, but fine to mix with on a hot summer evening.
Just bought this the other day and am trying out the suggestions on the back (w/o the Grenadine). With orange juice, this is actually pretty smooth, and tasty...you can tell there is rum in it for sure. By itself, it is fairly harsh.
This is one of the first rums I can still remember. There were others previous to it, but I can't remember them anymore. This one is quite ubiquitous, so you should be able to find it with little difficulty. However, it's primarily for mixing. Tasty enough, but not smooth enough.
A bit harsh, not quite as good a flavor as an Appleton 8.
Flavorful but a little sharp. Great with grapefruit juice-lightly sweetens.
This rum adds a lot to almost any drink, use in small amounts or it is too flavorful
Nice dark rum usually a well in some bars.
This is usually what there is to drink at bars. Not a true "fine rum", but it is better than not drinking dark rum.
Good for cooking as well
Standard for dark rum mixed drinks. It's a little harsh but aside from that a value rum.
