Myer’s Original Dark Rum is a blend of up to nine different rums of various ages, all of which are distilled using Jamaica's typical production method: pot-stills. The Original Dark Rum is slightly unique in Jamaica however, because some of the molasses used earlier in the process is added back in after distillation.
Myers rum has been produced since 1879 and named after its founder, Fred Myers.

Close to perfection for a dark rum! Dense and smooth. Great with cola or ginger ale.

Really cheap, even in the Netherlands (12€). Smells very strong out of the bottle, but fades nicely with cola. Not my favourite Jamaican rum, but certainly better than anything in this low, low price bracket.

This rum isn't special, but it serves its purpose well in mixed drinks.

Настоящая Ямайка, в ее лучших проявлениях! Достаточно молод, но на правильном пути к тому самому Ямайскому фанку. Дерзкий, безукоризненный он явно не для прекрасной половины пола...
Great for making Old Fashioned. But a bit to harsh for use as a sipping rum.

Basic, nothing to make it stand out. Another one that is acceptable given lack of better options.

Pretty good rum for mixing with strong molasses flavour. Easy to find. Big value for little money!

Great for piña colada’s. Nice dark molasses flavor. Heavy on the pallet in an enjoyable way. Not too sweet

Very sharp rum with a strong alcoholic taste on the nose and a nasty aftertaste. There are better dark rums. Not a good one to enjoy as neat drink.
The rum is 50% inviting and 50% telling you to watch out!.
"Initially it is all caramel and burnt toffee almost like black treacle. As the aroma develops that rich Jamaican aroma also makes an entrance amongst the dense treacle."

A flavor mix of molasses and toasted oak, pretty dry and soft.
