The bar visit with my friend continued with the Transcontinental Rum Line from Nicaragua. It's a very fruity and light expression, bottled at only 43% ABV. The aroma is dominated by fresh and slightly overripe fruits, mainly apricot, plum and grapefruit, accompanied by grassy notes and some nuts. After letting it breathe for several minutes, the smell develops notes of glue, nail polish remover and varnished floor. Eventually, dried fruits substituted the fresh ones I sensed at the beginning.

The mouthfeel is very watery, or, even milky in some sense. The initial sensation is composed from the taste of milk and earthy, mineral notes and blood. It then gets sour and tart with citrus notes, which is rapidly covered by a coconut milk and almond milk taste. Then the main part arrives; fresh fruits with cream and milk, which remain in the moderately-long finish.

The aftertaste is not too sudden, it develops with oak, noticed nowhere before, and lemon notes.

This rum is a fruity and creamy and undemanding, perfect for fun and party mode. Definitely a one to relax with.

A decent dry rum with hints of tropical fruits and vanilla

I really love Nicaraguan rum. This is the taste between Flor de Cana and Mombacho. It is clear than Flor de Cana, and softer than Mombacho.
