42% ABV. A new rum from Joel Richard, seemingly from a new "Royal Standard Collection."

Light nose. Hint of alcohol. Some sugar, but very dry. Mouth: briny! Some spice. And yes, salt. The hint of rubbing alcohol lingers, but is not offensive.

I really think this would be a great cocktail rum. Would love to try this alongside other contenders like FdC4, HC3, ED3, RM3, P5*, and Denizen. But right now, with its 84-proof strength and dry, complex flavor, I would gladly choose this as my "go-to" light mixing rum.

Quite good! Almost nothing on the nose, save some light alcohol. Tastes nothing like the smell. Nicely balanced and layered blend. It is sweet (but not overly so), so not sure about the dry factor of this one. Works well in a Daiquiri - not my favorite, but prefer it to Plantation 3-Star as a blended. This is quite good for the price, and actually passes as a sipper in my book, for a "white" rum that it is.

No doubt about it. Interesting in that aspect, and the higher proofing as a blend of white rums. It’s not my favorite, a great deal for what it is nor is going to replace anything I’d normally select for this style. It has a place as a sub for gin spirit cocktails, where you might experiment with the Jamaican/bajan/Guyanese notes in lieu of junipery dry London gin. I’d recommend Plantation 3 star over this for a rum-forward drink. If dry spirits are your thing, this could be your jam.

This is a great blend from E&A Scheer of unaged Trini, 3-year Bajan and light pot-still Jamaican. It has a great rum flavor. Most of all, it has a fantastic price, making it a great staple for daiquiris or any other beverage requiring a more delicate light rum.
