Velier Royal Navy Very Old

On the nose: tropical fruits (baked ripe bananas, overripe pineapple), sweetness, brown sugar, subtle spices, a little gummy, full of flavor; with water: caramel and fruits.

On the palate: spices, molasses, gum, oil & tar; with water: gum, spices, oak, subtle bitterness (dark chocolate), tropical fruits, dry.

In the finish: rubber, oil & tar, dirty, very long, tingling, dirty covering.

In der Nase: tropische Früchte (gebackene reife Bananen, überreife Ananas), Süße, brauner Zucker, dezent Gewürze, etwas Gummi, voll aromatisch; mit Wasser: Karamell und Früchte.
Am Gaumen: Gewürze, Melasse, Gummi, Öl & Teer; mit Wasser: Gummi, Gewürze, Eiche, dezente Bitterkeit (dunkle Schokolade), tropische Früchte, trocken.
Im Abgang: Gummi, Öl & Teer, dreckig, sehr lang, prickelnd, dreckig belegend.

A very complex and old school nose with all kinds of molasses, musty gingerbreads, ancient herbs and spices and rotten old wet books, dried mushrooms, dead woods floating in a sugar mud, it's dry, bold, old, and with a huge mouth that worls like the best raw pastis somehow... The jamaican side is very well integrated, and even pleasantly "shy", the funk never outshines the Caroni "fuel", and the latter is very well integrated itself in the demerara "austerity". Many many things happening here, please take your time with this rum.

What a nose, What a taste. Not a beginners rum for sure but what a fantastic blend this is. If you got the chance to taste it, then go for it!

Ve vůni cítím příjemnou techniku, kterou cítím rovněž v chuti. Při slepé degustaci bych si tipnul Caroni, nebo aspoň Trinidad, případně nějakou technickou Guyanu.
Rum mi samotný chutná, škoda, že láhve mizí mezi lidmi a nové nikdo produkovat nejspíš nebude.

Caroni, Jamaican, Guyana all in perfect balance. Super expressive.

Et rigtigt godt blend fra tre af de bedste romproducerende lande Trinidad - Guyana og Jamaica. Den smager fantastisk. Meget tæt på et 10 tal.

Velká paráda na nose i v chuti. Je tam toho hodně, je to vrstevnaté a s každým douškem objevujete nové chutě.

Tento rum som si skutočne užil. Výborné pitie , jemné, znaky citrusov a zároveň mierna olejnatost. Nádherná prirodzená sladkosť. Menšia zložka Caroni ho oživila. Odporúčam všetkým fanúšikom Navy rumov

The blend is well integrated - Very pleasant experience!

To preface, I've never met a Caroni that I've cared for. Having said that, this blend works for me! It's got great depth and the different countries play very well together. Still has the petrol-ish taste but, nonetheless, is very good.
